(See Joker, there are some good things I say about "No Pay, No Freight May"!)

Paloma, what does this MEAN? Is there something that I should NOW, BEFORE I go with them, then learn something and regret going with them? Do share!!

Well, May is a decent ENTRY LEVEL Company. Do your year, NO tickets, NO accidents, not even a scratch and NO Tickets. Then, look for an experienced Company .. Entry Level company is entry level pay and micro-managing. If ya go with May, opt for the 90/90 they talk about in Orientation.

After 3 weeks or so with a trainer, you solo out .. May offers the 90/90 .. first 90 days of driving at $90 a day regardless of how many miles you run, including sitting. And if your miles for that 90 days are over a set amount, they will pay you the difference.

Got it! This applies after you solo out then. Are there other options after you solo, like straight mileage pay? OMG, do you do a lot of SITTING with MAY? I get and understand that sitting/waiting is part of the industry, but is the amount greater than "normal" at MAY? Also, in your opinion, which division is better, 11 Western-Dry Van or OTR-Refer? Does the OTR go to the Northeast/NYC, which I would like to avoid like an STD!! Thanks again for all your info/help P, I really appreciate it as I gather info on the companies.
Oh, were you ever HOT, baking in the truck in the summer cause of their idle policy? Same applies to being cold. Thanks.

I left May back in October 2012 cause of no freight, as an Owner/Op, I cant afford to sit. I'm not the person to ask about Mays company side as I became an Owner/Op 8 months into my trucking career. Personally, I like the Western 11 because closer to home (48 refer ya hardly go west of Denver). Also, refer problems and constant fueling. Also, refer loads are usually food and those shippers/receivers will keep ya at a dock for 3-8 hours ... and yer NOT getting paid to sit. May is on Electronic Logs .. so if you run out of time, yer screwed!

    Thanks Paloma!!!
I tend to agree about refer, I used to be an O/O back in the '80's hauling refer. I hated it, the hurry up and wait reality!

So far so goodon the loop. Yesterday Phx to Colton drop. Pick up student went to GP delivered in Santa Maria and San luis opisipo or something like that lol, then dead head back to Ontario GP with a load tomorrow. In vegas deliver tomorrow morning. I like these Costco runs. 1100miles in 2 days I'm happy. No snow all sunshine. I can get used to this loop. Just gotta deal with a lot more traffic now.
