Women post on here on occasion asking about safety and whatnot. What's the first thing other women tell them? "Don't dress like a slut! Don't do the potty mouth talk!" We had one girl come in asking about getting in the oil fields. I told her that she will always have to be professional, she will always have to prove herself, but most of all, keep her business, HER business, meaning DO NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT YOUR PRIVATE LIFE.
But you want to be able to discuss your life and loves with the trainer. There's a really good chance that the absolute best trainer for you, the one that could teach you the little tricks that separate the great drivers from the good drivers, probably doesn't want to hear about your personal life. He/she is there to teach. That's what they enjoy doing. Now, which is more important to you...you're getting the best training possible or creating an emotional intimacy with someone for 6 weeks?
You want to know what causes the big conflict between straight people and gay? You feel entitled to talk about your lifestyle and your opinions, but if someone has a contrary opinion, he's a hater and a hater's viewpoint is wrong.
Same goes for those bible thumping idiots that think their lifestyle is right and everyone else be damaged. Same goes for the morons who view their race or nationality is superior. Whenever you try to push your views down someone else's neck, they puke on you. Don't want to get puked on? You know what you gotta do.
I'm a hater. I HATE everybody. Love the game, but I hate everyone playing. Right now, that game is 'Truckin'. But just because I hate you and everyone else doesn't mean that you can't win my respect. Don't be the gay truck driver, be a trucker. Don't be the woman driver, be a trucker. Don't be a black driver, be a trucker. Don't be a Muslim driver or bible thumping driver, be a trucker.
So, refocus your goals. Priority one is to get trained. Then make a name for yourself and prove that you are a solid driver. It's not ' pretending to be straight', it's keeping your personal life separate from the secular. And that's the way it should be for everyone.MJ1657, vegaskid, WV_Daddys_Girl and 1 other person Thank this. -

I would go to each thread of all the big companies on here to find a gay trainer. When you find him sign up with that company and specify you want to be trained by that person, you may have to wait till he's available but it will happen. And in return spread the word to others so that he (the trainer) has repeat business . It would be job security for him, and comfort for you.

Another case of a gay wanting to be treated equal while feeling it necessary to announce to the industry of his sexuality. I don't have anything against gays or lesbians but you can't be expected to be treated equal if you don't act like an equal. In all my years of roaming this earth I have not ever seen or heard of a straight pride parade. Never seen a sticker in a window informing the rest of the world that a straight person is driving that vehicle. Never heard if a straight people rights organization and never ever once had a straight person inform me of their sexuality in conversation. Take the trainer they give you. Learn from that trainer and move on. If he tells a gay joke, so what. I'm a white guy and I can't tell you the number of white trailer trash jokes I've heard. Sticks and stones......
