Tell me did you not just list alot of other business owners in that same spill you did? Tell me one owner operator who would rather spend 1000.00 instead of 500.00 dollars for anything in their expenses. Also dont forget about non-trucking companies, when was the time your cell phone carrier sat down with you, or sent you a letter in the mail saying, ' thanks soooo very much on being our customer and called you by name instead of a generic, "mrs or mr so and so blah blah blah?" How many people went bankrupt in 2007-09 or what about those on wall street who get away with murder, or those in banking who have interest rates that are not so helpful, or what about the pay day loan guys who have 800% interest rates who take the poor and middle class citizens of America for granted. Or what about the government.. oh, um nevermind dont want anyone to get started. "Going on" what about the justice system that would allow known killers off the hook because there was a "lack of evidence"? What about judges and senators who take bribes?

What about police officers who after a certain time of day dont go into bad neighbourhoods even when they are called. Or what about a teenager getting killed walking home minding his own business and then years later have a cop use his photo as target practice? Or what about people everyday seeing new drivers out there needing help and instead of getting out of their truck to offer help stay in their seat and watch while a poor soul struggles to get into a hole and possibly tearing someones fender off? When will people stop acting all high and mighty and help their fellow man? You say you are at knight, congrats, but you know what? there are bad things about every single company out there. And there are owners out there who dont know everyones name. You want to belittle someone? Do you know all of your co-workers names? I mean you want to act like he is the only one who doesnt know peoples name do you know their names at knight? Do you every single time you pass another Knight truck talk to the driver, ask about their families, wonder how they are doing, day in and day out? Well tell me, how can someone with over 17000 trucks and more drivers possibly know all their names? Does Apple know everyones name who are employed? Facebook, know everyones name, Google? Samsung? Microsoft? Mcdonalds, Credit Unions, Law firm owners, what about any other ceo of a company? Does this travesty just hit Swift owners or is it every business? What business out there can you tell me of that dont try to save the most money possible out there? Should there be an overhaul, sure, but dont try and sit here and act like its all Swift and Jerry. Bad mouthing ceos who are set for life does neither of us nor anyone else any good. I try and keep things in perspective. Maybe I am weird but I have never once worked at a place where the ceo knew me by name. I have never worked at a company where I got a million dollars just for showing up to work. I dont know about you but if my needs are being met and my family and friends needs are being met, I dont really care if this multibillionaire knows my name. There are alot of billionaires out there, they have done what they had to do in the game called business to reach that status financially, instead of talking bad about them, I wish they would write a book showing how they did it so that I could be a billionaire one day too. But I guess I am weird for wanting to attain that status. Shoot I would even take a million and if one of their companies helped me reach multimillionaire, why knock them?

Its all in the way you think about certain things in the end.

I was in the TA lot watching a swift truck trying to back into a hole for the night when after quite a bit of time, the Swift driver got on the radio for help; I helped him back in and he wanted to give me 10 dollars, I replied no keep your weeks pay.

Actually I make enough to fund my retirement fund and savings account, I understand its a joke, but its not all the industries fault, there are some drivers out there who dont know how to manage their income well enough for slow times and lack of freight. Some come in drowning in debt from previous non-trucking lives and when they are hit with low income starting out they want to blame the company that gave them a shot at doing what they thought they wanted to do. Well, my thought pattern is a little different than most. People talking about low wages and whatnot sometimes, not all the time I admit, live well over their means. I was taught to make what you make but live below your means. I save for the future, I try and inform new drivers to take care of bills at home before setting out in the field because it will get slow. If you are lucky and stay in the frieght lanes you can make tons of money.

After I got my CDL and went home for about 2 days after I met my DM I stayed another 6 months out on the road and my income was high enough to make me happy. I took care of some bills, still taking care of others and by the time I am 30 this year I will have a sizeable nest egg saved up. But I am not married or have any kids so it may be harder for those with families. Swift is not bad, its the people and how each person treats the other. If you come in thinking you are going to get the world for showing up, you wont make it. But if you do what you have to do when they tell you and keep your head down and work hard, you can succeed. If anyone is having backing problems they should go to a class at a terminal and get some backing practice in. When I was with my mentor he took me to a terminal and because of it I can back in most spots. I am not the best but I do a decent enough job. Its all what one driver puts into the job. I didnt think I would be handed anything coming in and those who do will fail. Its a great career, just have to work at it and make choices and yes some sacrifices sometimes in order to brighten you and your families future.

I can name a few other companies that are worse that Swift. They aren't that bad. Unless you get a bad dm but that's the case with any company.

And no other "new driver" or even any "experienced driver" has ever had trouble backing in...ever...it must be just a Swift driver that has all the troubles(?)....NAH, no other driver or company could possibly have a bad day! Or even...you have never had any issues while backing....with your whole 2 years of experience.....it must be nice to be perfect, or the ultimate super trucker at 2 years!
