Schneider is paying $150 per day for hauling sand in South Texas and other parts, for those willing to take it. I am not sure if this is a good deal as of yet. Thinking of going flat bed instead.
Where the heck is the money in sand?

What's wrong with working 14 hours OR MORE? Or are you NOT being paid for it? I'm reading conflicting stories now........first I hear long hours are there whether you want them or not (I used to average 40-65 hours of overtime biweekly) and now I'm reading being "on call" is the norm in "the patch"
Can anyone clarify -

Schneider wants you to have the TX license. Means a real residence, I checked with DMV here and they said a PO won't work.

Superpet-- Nothing wrong working the OT if it is available. What "ON CALL" means is that if you are up for 8 waiting on dispatch, there is no pay. Then you get a call for a quick load, you jump... when done you sit. Next load may be in 2 to 12 hours.... or days.... no guarantee of hours, OT (there is none with Schneider) or even loads. Just pay for the day you work. That's it. No OT !!!

A BEEN SITTING FOR 5 DAYS, NOW !!! Yep, Schneider doesnt recognize overtime, only delivered loads......wether it takes 4 hours or 4 days, then they count zip-code miles for the pay, 12 hour shifts, sharing a room with whomever drives your truck the other 12 hours. You should be able to make $55k if you stick to it, dont spend your money, eat like a baby, and wait. It's a great company, they have a very active sales team, provide great training,
well structured, guaranteed at least $36k per year....... However, in my neck of the woods, working for a different company: going on my third week as a new-hire
trainee, they havent finished their training and havent assigned me a truck yet. Late winterr weather put a stop Mon-wed, worked Thurs. Trainer got sick, manager
wont return my calls, cant get my own truck until i watch a safety video which no one seems to know where it went, now we got more weather halting things again.
I been waiting since Thurs. Now am told I might make $57k - not the promised $85k; maybe I shoulda took the McLane offer, or keep applying for water or crude hauling
or spent the money and went with BartLarsen.....aghhhh!!!! This couch is getting old, Dont know anymore..... I cant get my own place till I have steady income,
cant register my car to a po box, home prices and interest rates are going up. Should i go back to OTR and get me a $10,000 shack in Georgia?
I BEEN SITTING FOR 5 DAYS NOW!!!!! -

Seems like the on call stuff happens more with sand haulers. If you haul water or crude it more structured because you can make a schedule based on what the wells produce. Cement is basically all on call work but there's good money to be made there. Frac can go either way depending on if your company has a contract or not. If the work is contracted it can be very stable and set schedules.
superpet39 Thanks this.
