What he said. The hardest part about secuing is figuring out where to throw straps. Melton gives you plenty of securement (18 straps), so if you're unsure of something, throw some more. I have had loads where I used 22 straps before i felt comfortable. And don't be afraid to ask. There are a few feminine hygiene products out there, but most people will gladly offer advice if asked.

Who told you that you will train out of Youngstown? I know a just a few years ago all new hires went through the Tulsa terminal for orientation and training. When did that change?

I might have misunderstood, but I thought the recruiter told me I would train out of the Ohio terminal. Doesn't make any difference to me, but Ohio is much closer.

AZCannon and Noggin: Thanks for helping me along so far. I have appreciated your advice. Oh yeah...a little shout out to my fellow squid TriLetter (nice Hawkeye shot). I have a couple last questions for you all:

    1. How long have you been with Melton?
    2. How would you rate Melton for a newly-minted, fresh-out-of-the-box, wide-eyed CDL grad?
    3. Can you give me me the high points and low points? I am not asking you to sugarcoat or bad-mouth, just maybe some things I can expect should I get hired with Melton.

    Thanks,

    Charlie

cmac, back at ya! The Might Hummer; may not be as exotic as the FA crowd, but if something happens, who ya gonna call for assist? Of course, the lowly Hawkeye. The original pic has some nice wing tip votices, too. Your background in our naval service?

Yep. Six ships. Last one was USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74). We had the privilege of hosting sea trials for the Super Hornet. I taught college for the last 12 years. I'm done. I've seen 20 year-old kids final safety checking YOUR airplane before we shoot it off the flat end and I can't get 23-year-olds to do their homework. Geez!

They send you to the closest terminal to your home. Orientation is still done in Masury OH.

You flew E-2's? My dad assembled the landing gear doors and the canopy enclosure. :)

I have been here approx. 6 months
Better than most places that would hire you , not because you are you but because of the exp. requirement by most companies
Equipment and people are pretty great , the only thing I will say to a low point is most everyone has as expectation of miles and daily work conditions and frankly they are what they are . The low point is really your expectations and reality meeting each other and setting in your mind. That was my low point. Had less to do with the company and more to do with the trucking business.

lol. I have skimmed over that word so many times and never found a great way to put that. Thanks
How you doing buddy , I just deadheaded 240ish home and ran out of hours halfway there ! Had to spend a night in Tucson, wish I would have stayed in Benson.
My budddy Jeff is snowed in Wyoming and has been sliding around in the ice all day , he is going to probably miss his weekend load because of this weather ..... in mid april..... in Kansas and Wyoming on his way to Utah from Dallas
