There are quite a few dealers that know exactly how to play the exception game on new vehicle deliveries. High exception writing dealers use "transport damage" to supplement their body shop business. These are the dealers that love to write 05-1, 12-1 chips and scratches that actually can be buffed or colorsanded and turn these into body shop claims...$150-$200 on dozens of units each week. The best thing is daylight delivery with signed receipts. Years ago Ford went on a kick and forced all their carriers to deliver 24/6. That meant a PM slip seat operation. It was a nightmare to keep some of the dealers from taking high exceptions on vehicles delivered at night and then checked in at their lesiure the next day. I know Ford and Chrysler measure carrier performance on exceptions taken on a vehicle not claims filed. So even if a high writing dealer is not filing claims, the high exception rate makes a carrier look bad.

yea we had one i wont mention that was real bad it was on police cars because they would pocket the cash . it went on so bad chy stepped in and now i havent seen a write up in over a year. Had another about a year ago try to get 600 for a wax mark claiming it was scratched until i showed back up at the lot and rubbed the middle of it off.
agree with the STI thing i know most of the dealers well now, where i run and i know who i can STI and who i better be there when they open. i sti about 80% of the dealers with no problems but there is always the others you know you cant drop or it will cost you.
our biggest blackmark comes from brokered OO's that dont care because they look at it as they will do what it takes and not come back.Had one a while back dropped one off side of the trailer then put in back in the parking spot and left.......um hello ######### they got cams lol -
Gotta love dealers... -
This is a great thread. I guess it's time I joined the discussions instead of just reading.
I love the smaller dealers that don't have lot jocks or checkers. You know the type .... they send out the junior salesman to check in the load.
A 10 car load and he takes 15 minutes per car and has a clip board !!! "Uuummmm .... the plastic cover is missing from the 12 volt outlet in the back seat .... what's the code for that ?"
"Jeeez Pal .... code it as 173-42-108 ... !" C'mon, it's factory, not transport !!
Anyway, The new Nissan Juke Kizmo, or Gizmo, or Nismo .... or whatever it's called ARE NOT COMING WITH floormats so don't let the dealer code it .... apparently they're special order.
Door Chip over and out. -
Maybe I'll change mine to 37-04-5 short for Bridge Hit!! HAHAHAHAHAItsbrokeagain, interpreter, 10-34-1 and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah, we noticed that here a few weeks ago about the fancy Jukes. Still no official answer as to why no floor mats in all. we're still marking it as a code. Tks for that. -
