No apu's Some of the new pro star's have some sort of underbunk kind of mini temp unit. Unfourtunatley all this means is that they have put a TEMP governor of some sort on the trucks to where you cant Idle between 70 and 90 deg.Swift currently has Volvo 670's a few company 780's although these are older models. A fair deal of kenworth aerocab's company side and studio's for lease. Cascadias both company and O/O lease option's I've seen a few cascadia mid roof's that are very new. But company side Volvo's 670 and older 780's Kw aero's and freightliner cascadia's/columbia's also pro star eagle's In a verity of option's. Swift will lease on trucks of certain wheel bases regardless of age in certain condition. Also any truck you see not on this list is most likely a fleet test truck of some kind.

Also on the APU I was told no, same for inverters installed, however I was told Swift will install an inverter if you have a medical condition such as sleep apnea, no idea on the wattage they give though.

I got to see a few different trucks while I was at the Swift Academy at the Phoenix terminal, got to get inside one of the drivers international which was a 2009 and it was nice and still running strong with 450k miles, the ones I studied with were older freightliners

Can some of the drivers give some insight on some of the trucks? I have been told each one has some differences, was told volvo gets a little better fuel mileage etc. Also insight on the engines? I know some prefer Detroit diesels while some prefer the cummings engine.

I got a 09 volvo 630 single bunk. With 520,000 and it has been beat. I keep reading that everytime you go into shop status they want you to get a different truck lol I wish. I have tried and am still trying to get another truck this keeps having problems after problems. It's a pile of crap. Nasty as hell inside etc. hopefully the engine will grenade soon and I might have a shot at a newer truck then. It has now breakdown 3 times it was in the shop first time for 2 days next was 7 days and this time we will see. This is since march 30th. Stay away from the older volvos lol

Man that sucks, i was told swift liked to swap out around 500k miles so i would assume especially if your having issues they would, costing them more money when you think about all that downtime especially not even a month, that's a loss of thousands of dollars worth of loads daily sitting in a shop not to mention mechanics and parts.
