NATE980--- Maybe "YOU" don't need/want imported labor??? I guess "YOU" don't want/need the thousands of Asians', Mexicans', and migrant workers that work and live in BC and alberta. But the big business does, and they serves you!!! If you eat meat from a national chain restaurant --- guess what --- most likely a non Canadian citizen slaughtered and processed the meat in Canada, that is distributed throughout Canada.!!!!! Have you ever eaten meat at Tim Hortons or Mcdonalds????? Is imported factory work ok to feed you but not a truck driver to transport it to you??

I don't know why Americans just don't work in the oil patch in the lower 48... North Dak and Texas need drivers.

Because us teams pay more and there are only 7 Cdn teams?

Btw Kokanee is horse piss. Only those who have no better choices drink it.

And we will gladly let US drivers work in Canada ... When they let us work in the states. Won't hold my breath for that one.

Actually. the company I work for has sent around 50 of our guys down to N.D., Texas and Colorado. So the U.S. does let us work down there!

generally under quite strict conditions. I am in the USA myself right now, under an L1B work permit. To qualify for it I have to have worked for my employer for several years, have specific, "proprietary" knowledge of operating and maintaining our specific equipment, and be qualified to train American employees to do the job.

That's probably the exact same line the Royal Bank fed it's employees ..... just before they were laid off and replaced by resident .... but not quite resident ..... foreign workers from India.

I realize there's other threads for THAT subject, but I couldn't resist the irony ...... anyways

This is something that has been going on for decades in the oil patch, primarily amongst multi-nationals. Canadian rig and service crews that might otherwise sit, or even be laid off due to breakup, go south to take up some of the slack. There is some, but not as much, movement north by U.S. crews in the winter.

I drink Kokanee... I like it, and I am a BC guy. I worked in a brewery for 5 years and know beer well, it's a consistent beer with a flavor that I like, I am trained taster and can tell any defects or abnormalities and have yet to have a poor quality Kokanee. Anyway, also because I got canned I just don't drink certain brands due to a chip on my shoulder ha ha! I also respect anyone's choice in beer, enjoy what you like! None of them are Canadian owned anymore, Big Rock is actually the largest Canadian owned brewery if you can believe that.
