been with swift since mid december. i went back with them due to being out of work for 15 months. started mt career with them back in '97 but only lasted 5 months. i lovee the job but lifestyle taking time to get used to again. due to my experience, they started me at .36/mile. miles could be better but pays the bills. currently i been off for a month due to surgery for detached retina. hopefully i can get back. this job is what you make of it. don't thrive on the negative but the positive. learn all you can, be safe, obey all laws. don't get in the habit in refusing loads or they'll sit you alot. you have to learn that swift is a huge company, so you'll be known as a number, though your dm mite know you. hope this helps

company drivers send in mac 9 to accept or refuse loads. reason you can refuse loads are time issues. if you can't make the pick up or delivery time, you send in the time that you can do it. if that time doesn't fit, company will take it off you. i refused only 1 load outright cause weekend planner was being a douchebag and wouldn't answer my question. but not a thing i would suggest doing lol.

thats the largest tip I get from all Swift drivers, dont refuse loads unless its a time issue, dont be picky saying you wont go to California or you wont go to New York etc, take what they give you!

yep. take the short run cause it normally puts in for a long run. in my opinion.. if you are gonna just sit waiting for a nice run, you're losing money due to sitting for so long.

yeah I heard a guy turned down a 6mile dropoff to a target location, another guy snatched it up and when he got there they gave him a 3k mile load....sucks for the other guy still sitting waiting.
