    Reporting live from Bakersfield:

Apparently the staff at Bolthouse Farms have taken such a liking to us grumbling complaining steering wheel holders that they've erected a roadblock to keep us here 'til the morning. :D

Shag truck was whipping around the corner and the trailer just slid right off the fifth wheel. We all heard the boom. Our loader told us its one of their own trailers and that "that happens all the time here".:eek::eek:

At least we know how they keep their foo foo fruity smoothies stirred up. :D:p:sly:

Probably not good for the fuel tank judging by the fluid on the ground.

It's been a while since I posted a 'favorite' call. But here is todays:
"Hello, this is ******, can I help you."
    "Uh, I need some gas."
    "What's your truck number?"
"Nevermind that, I just need some gas."
"I can appreciate you need some fuel, and I'd love to help you, but I need your truck number first."
"Why do you guys always ask so many questions? Just give me an optistop. I'm gettin' low."
"OK. What truck number should I send the optistop to?"
"Just send me the **** optistop!"
    "I need a truck number. I can't send it where I don't know."
    "What?"
"Where do I send the optistop?"
"Send it to me! Are just plain stupid?"
"Pretty much. My wife would verify that."
"***hole! Don't be such a ******* **hole. Send my an optistop."
"Look, driver. I'm really wanting to help you. But without a truck number, it just doesn't work. Everything revolves around your truck number."
    I'm losing patience here folks...
"Forget it. I'll just wait until tomorrow and get my DM to do it. Then the load will be late and it will be your fault."
"Is there anything else I can do to help you?"
"I need some dashcash to eat."
"Ok. Who do I send THAT to?"
    "Send it to truck *****."
I thought about it for a second...then sent the money. And an optistop.
I guess there are just days like this!

Isn't that phone system still new enough that you can blame an "accidental disconnection" on "bugs we're trying to get worked out"? :D

After the name calling started, that would've been the end of that phone call for me. No reason for that. At that point it becomes personal. I don't know how you folks put up with that on a daily basis and STILL find it in yourselves to be pleasant and professional to the next caller (that's been my experience anyhow).

As a driver who doesn't mind divulging his truck number I say thanks for all your hard work and help (yes...this even applies to the night and weekend crew). :D

I always stated my name and truck number after the hello...

It really amazes me still just how unprofessional most people are.

I think the fact that Stevens will take no action on this jerk puts the message out there that it condones such behavior.
I would have him brought back to the yard and fired, and then issue a statement to the fleet that this will not be tolerated.

I hope management read your post and ask you for the truck number.

Exactly... when I call them and they answer... "Hi this is ______ Truck ________"

When they call me "This is ______ "

Should have sent $25 to every truck in the company and charged it to his account. That might change his attitude.

so true ... no action, employees think it is okay to act like a jerk, and will continue. Others see it and will act the same way.
