We had the misfortune of being at the Houston OC twice and that was twice too many times for me. IMHO, its the sorriest excuse for an OC that there is. -

I agree. -
Just because you're using your brother's address doesn't mean you have to stay with him when you're "home". All of the OCs have a hotel that they've contracted a SNI rate with - usually between $32 and $38. You can go to the hotel, pay the bill yourself, and still get the rate. As long as you stay fewer than 10 days a month it's still cheaper than renting an apartment.Twicebit Thanks this.

If you've never been to the Seville, OH drop yard, you haven't seen bad. It is an abandoned OC that they now just use for the lot.

I never said I was just going to sit in my truck the whole time. What I would do is use that truck as a place to lay my head down at night at no cost like in a hotel. Otherwise, I'll be out living life just the way you all do when you're not working. I'll have my car there and can go visit my family, br involved in church activities, tour... I've got friends spread out in south Texas. I can spend some time in my truck at the OC besides sleeping; I like to read as an example. And after working long long hours for a few weeks, I'm not going to just keep driving. I think I will welcome 6 days off each month so I don't get burned out!

Sure, I can see running a little harder in the warmer months. By the way, I used Google Maps on my Galaxy 3 to look at the Houston OC. I counted roughly 184 tanks and 119 vans on the property.

Well then that is a good plan. Yea you could sleep in your truck at night that wouldn't be a problem. Also, I have no idea what Klato was talking about. I have had a whopping one tank leak the entire time I have been here. It is very rare, you don't have to bring in an empty but you probably will, that is just how freight works. Finding an empty isn't exactly hard, they assign the tank your going to pull. What do you care , I have never not had a load because of no empties, its almost laughable. Really not even a problem. Again makes no sense, don't listen.
