Amazing what a quick power nap will do. Hell, even a quick stretch or a walk to take a piss will do the trick. Anything to knock you out of that 'highway fever' hypnotism. I have found, since I got a CB last week, it does a better job of keeping me alert. Too bad for that guy. At least no one got hurt. Hopefully, next time, he will hit the next truck stop or rest area when he get's the dreaded 'highway fever'.
Anywho, off to do a Nashville, TN turn. (600 mi.)

i know I sound a bit stern but that's the truth. Welcome to the team and be sure to share your experience with us -
@Squonk our shortest layover is 303 miles. I know it's not fAr but the speed limits keep rising and dropping from 65-45 and through mountains

Whew, man, I'm tired. Finally back. They had me hit Louisville on my way back. That made for a very tight turn. Night...

Thanks Road Train Member it's tuff with a Rookie moving into a new career. I've actually kind of lost my driving skills. I went to a school in Iowa for six weeks with a little driving and learning from my father in law. Then went to Kansas City for about 2 months not driving at all. What a big mistake I had a lot of confidence when I left that school. Even passed the DOT Drivers test. The traffic in Kansas City is 10 times more traffic in Iowa definitely kind of freaked me out. Not used to all the traffic. I'm hoping once I start driving again the feeling will come back . You heard that old saying if you don't use it you will lose it. Basically I need to put my balls out on the dash suck it up and be a man. If I received a CDL and passed with Flying colors I believe I need to get on the road and get started the suspense is killing me. Thanks for the info it's definitely enlightened me a little bit. I don't understand what this part time dock worker stuff is all about. Why would YRC need part time dock workers. I thought this company is growing new legs and starting come back with new management. I actually need full time but willing to do what ever it takes I believe this company is solid and will prevail. I chose this company over the over the road killers. So I'm going to give it 100%. Thanks for the info.

Guys here don't retire, they work til they die. We got alot of old dudes working here. Our #1 & #2 guys recently died. I don't get it, but hey, it's their prerogative. I'd say our average age here is 65 with quite a few in their 70s, couple few in their 80s. We have no one in there 20s & very few in their 30s. I get "Hey there young man" all the time. I'm freaken 52 years old. ? Soooooo, I'll never get a bid, it takes 20 years. Unless I decide to work til I die, then, I'll get a bid when I'm 70. lol Anyway, I don't care. I don't mind the extra board. I like the variety.
Took the day off. Got a crapload of stuff done. Time for a shower & then chow & chill. Not sure what I'm gonna cook, just know I'm gonna cook. Gotta stop eating out so much.
