but in these days of getting beat over the head with

    compliance
    compliance
    compliance and
    safety
    safety
    safety

to have the blind leading the blind as a team operation to the point where the "trainer" is telling folks he is not getting proper rest is nothing short of criminal exploitation

No one is disagreeing with you (for once) EZ...

Just don't say "everyone" is Werner. That's like saying the outfit you pull for isn't any different than CRE. I'm sure they don't have that hokey motto on their back doors!

Instead of "slimy" I'd substitute the word DANGEROUS. A few weeks back I heard from a guard at a US Express terminal that USX has a new program for CDL students fresh out of school. They are TEAMED and they are supposed to "teach each other". The stipulation is that they must show a lot of potential as being good drivers. Excuse me, but WHO fresh out of CDL school is a good driver?? NOBODY.

The guard I spoke to heard this from 3 different "teams" recently that had visited this particular terminal. Yes this is "hearsay" on my part. But I know this guard well and don't think it's a lie. Anyway, take this info for what it's worth...

Oh, and I was told that two of the "teams" didn't even know how to adjust their tandems, that they were asking the guard HOW to do this basic maneuver.

This is no surprise because most if not all of the large companies do this. They are in this to make money pure and simple!

They're ALL " scams " with the sole purpose of forming teams to keep the truck moving as much as humanly possible at the expense of public safety.

Why does anyone go to Werner?? I know a guy who worked for them , he made $26,000 his first year and $32,000 his second year!!!! He was gone 3 weeks and home for 2 days.. I only lasted 4 months Otr before I thankfully got a local job. But I worked for roehl, made about 400wk for my 3 weeks of training and 15 weeks on my own and made a little over 11 grand. So you do the math over a 52 week period I probably would have made about 40 grand my first year plus I was never out longer then 12 days. So if you go with any company Otr go with roehl. Then when you have the time in get yourself a local job. I make 51-53 grand year working for dli never working more then 45 hours a week , home everyday and off on weekends.. You pick your poison..
