Does Schneider allow Pets?

No they don't.

 

as bbkeo stated they dont, the reason is that with there policies some times your truck might be used as a loaner to a driver whos truck is in the shop and if there allergic to the animal that would be a bad thing. if you are an owner operator/independent contractor you can have pets but then the truck is yours. i know several oo/ic's who have pets in there trucks but as a company driver its there equipment.

 

good luck and if those other places come up dry remember that sni has its share of problems mostly related to bad dbl's (sni's term of the week for dispatchers) and bad attitudes from drivers, i have been lucky to get a very good dbl that keeps me loaded. also dogs do tend to make a mess if you dont get them out in time

Yes the allergic part makes sense but with fuel cost the way they are more and more companies are stopping pets even with a deposit because of the idling to keep them cool and or warm cost the little fellas weight in gold.

 

Can we start calling these companies who don't allow pets - Nazi's ?

Have you tried telling them this? Because, honestly, *I* am allergic to some dogs and cats and definitely COULD NOT go into a truck FULL of some dog or cat hair - it'd drive me batty, especially trying to sleep. I've never had an issue with a pet that has hair instead of fur (like a maltese, poodle, etc) so have you actually talked to them about it? The fact that your animal DOES NOT shed should matter a LOT and they should take this into consideration.

Besides, why would anyone have your truck? If it's in the shop, it's in the shop and, when it comes out, you get back into it. No one ever drove our truck. O/O's never loan their truck - they manage.

I can honestly see why some would do it, especially with cats who pee inside and/or dogs that dig. You can destroy the carpeting, bedding, etc., in a truck with those kinds of problems but if you are willing to put down a damage deposit, I can't see why it'd be an issue, especially with a hypo allergenic doggie
