WOW! I got to say a lot of blaming of the companies and not really blaming of the people who are in the seat.

YOU as a driver are responsible for everything. IF you are a trainer and get 5 hours sleep, it is not the company's fault, it is yours.

We in this industry have a tendency to blame the company for things that are sometimes our fault, no one forces anyone to get a job here, no one forces anyone to get behind the wheel to drive an unsafe truck and no one holds your family at gun point to cheat on logs.

YOU as the CDL holder have the law on your side to stop some of this crap from happening but you got to have the nerve to actually do or say something - just ask that trucking lawyer that is on this site, he can tell you what they can and can't do and how to go about protecting yourself.

Will you keep your job if you complain?

Maybe not but if you look at that job as the only thing you can get, then you need to find another line of work.

i would agree that it is the trainers responsibility but as a corporation which is focused on risk, werner should not be sending them TEAM loads when the person is just a trainee

I understand that but they weighed the risk and looked at the desperation within the industry and they made decisions to do what they do.

But in truth, it isn't just about the trainer, it is about the CDL holder no matter what they are being used for, they are the one who needs to take responsibility, not pass it onto others and using excuses to justify it.

You do know that some flight schools have newly mint pilots training to get hours, even though their habits in the pilots seat are not formed well enough to do so?

I called them and they told me they could bring me in at .32cpm, that's what I made back in 1994!

I remember a 3 million miler that was making .38, which was max at the time. He retired at 75 from flatbedding.
