Hey guys!
Sorry its been a few days..been busy!
You never sit still here at Prime unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. I just wanted to welcome all you guys that are just now getting started with Prime and wish you the best of luck. It is a business and it is your business so treat it as such. I made a FAT check this week and sat for 2 full days over the weekend but it was due to being a Northeast driver and high value loads on me. It was a good week. My DM wrote to me today and said "You should see the size of your check", "You cried this weekend for sitting still and you made that much $$$". He was just messing with me of course. He is a good friend and a great guy. I replied to him that a few tears did Hilary some good so I thought I would give it a shot.
Well even if it didnt work quite that way, I still managed to pull it off. I put a little pressure on him sometimes and make him work a bit hard but I also earned the ability to do so by being on time all the time and not refusing any loads from him. I trust him to make sure that my revenue is always as far up as we can get it. He profits from my profit so it is something he wants to do. I said all that because you as well need to put pressure where the pressure is needed but not so much that you break it. Again this is your business and no good business man (or women) should ever settle for status quo. You might be ok with an $800 a week check but I am not. If you only want to make that amount then get your 2 years in and go drive at home so that you dont have to be on the road all the time. OTR is not worth $800 per week when you can make it at the house. That is why I do not do company driving any more. My next move is to train for the year, ($1800-$2200 on average per week) then after my lease is over, I will take my bonus along with a few $$$ out of pocket and buy a truck. Making sure to have a few thousand aside for any repairs. At that point the average for my weekly will be $2500 or more take home before taxes with prime. Ill let God take over from there and let me know where to go. Well good luck new guys and if you need any help or questions answered then dont hesitate to ask.

You do have the option to purchase the truck but I am sure that you have to do it through another financial means and you will surely want to. The lease company is just that, a lease company and they will lease you the truck right up until you feel like it but it will cost you out your rear. The amount of $$$ that you pay in payments for the 3 years you are in the truck will actually be enough for the purchase of the truck and then the profit that the lease company will make is on the front side as well as the back side on the trade (or resale) value. That is why they will nickel and dime you to death when you turn it in or they will give you your full amount of bonus if you buy it outright.
I would say that for the most part you will get a better deal if you go and negotiate a deal with a used dealer and hand them your bonus as a down payment and maybe a couple of thousand with it. Make sure that when you buy a truck you have a few thousand in the bank to cover your ### on repairs. Build that account up until you have about $15,000 at all points in time and then if you make a repair, consider it a loan from yourself and pay yourself back ASAP so that you have enough to rebuild a motor with transmission if needed. But look into both ways because you may be a ble to negotiate with the person that they are trading it back to so long as ou still want the truck that you are in. I will not want mine because I run long miles on it and it is an ugly color but I also know that my bonus check will not be the $13,000 that I would normally get. I will have to subtract about $5,000 or so from that amount and receive about $8,000 in the end. It is a fact of life. Dont be agree about it. it is a normal depreciation situation with your seat torn and you Finns bent from a jackknife or whatever. Just make sure that whatever you do, it is done based on an educated decision so take the time to think it out.

JBCUDA SEND ME A P.M.
I will be taking the training classes this coming Monday and will be out on Wed. but you will need to be with another trainer for a couple of weeks to get your license before you could go with me. Still keep in touch to see if we can get together after that initial situation and we will see if we can make it happen. I am not a smoker so it might be hard right from the start. If you have any questions on anything Im always glad to help.
