I am. But my presets are always presets that don't make a lot of sense. I can and have ran 4,000 in a week. It sucked but I made it happen.
Last week: 4-26 to 4-29 1250 paid miles, 4-29 to 4-30 340 miles, and then from 4-30 to 5-2 1,000 miles.
This week: 2500 again. I see why people scream and complain. I message my DM all the time and she says, I know. I'll keep you moving. But she just keeps me preset which isn't the same thing. Picking up a 1500 miler Friday morming with a full clock and not being able to get out from under it until Monday night (i went in 6 hours early) was painful. I am about to call O/O and have a chat. Maybe I need a checklist. I am not a complainer by nature but there is absolutely no reason I should be making burger flipping money. What gets me is I don't have to be here. I want to. I enjoy the work and I know where it can lead to eventually. At the same time, knowing when to walk away is what got me here in the first place. I feel like I'm tattling but I guess I have to see what options I have cuz this ain't cutting it.

This talk about DM's and communication points out something we should be doing at orientation:
Why not allow us to sit in with the DM's and also the Load Planners for a couple of hours during orientation?
They could show us things that would make the job easier on both sides:
"Here's what I see when the customer calls. Here's what I see when you're in danger of missing your appointment. Here's what I see when I look for an empty trailer for you. This is when its easy to find you a load if you deliver early, and here's when I won't be able to find you a load, no matter how early you deliver."
Seems like that would make everybody's job easier.FLATBED, Arkansas Frost, Tats Man and 3 others Thank this. -
Yes to Kraft
No to twin -
Youve been here long enough, why aren't you looking at dedicateds? At the very least you should be trying to go over your dm's head. It's not pleasant, but I did it after 3 weeks otr. I had had 2 conversations already with my dm about miles and avg load. After I went over her head things got better. She didn't hold it against me or think less of me, in fact if anything she saw that I was willing and able to run hard.
You SHOULD NOT be making jokes for checks. We've been here about the same amoun of time, and my net before taxes ytd is $23,3xx. The money is there, the miles are there, you need to do what it takes to get yours.Arkansas Frost and Lady K Thank this. -
#### I just missed you. Parked there last night after picking up at Americold Logistics. Now shut down in Kearney. Deliver at the 99 in the morning. Got a meatload in dodge that is heading to ABQ and from there routed through home to pick up my transferred CO CDL. As always, looking forward to meeting each and every one of you that contributes to this thread!

Aaron, good to hear from you. Hope your home time was everything you needed and more! I will also be getting those endorsements here in the next month or so. Also applying for Hazmat and taking that test as well. Kind of a process here in small town CO, but I'll manage. Whole reason I came down this road was to earn my CDL and then head to the oil fields. That has been and will remain the goal. See you out here.

This is my 4th DM. That's part of it. I started with one that moved on. Switched to one that ran me hard but then jumped on the Midwest fleet as a company driver. Did well tere and figured i could do the lease no problem. Tried to go back to the one that ran hard after I leased. Dont think she liked me leaving her in the first place cuz i got my new DM. I've tried to give her a fair chance. We get along well and she treats me ok but it's like she's scared to put things too close together. There has also been home time and stress taking my attention off the job. I know nobody cares if you are having problems and you have to figure out a way through it or sink like everybody else. Another big part (the biggest?!) is having a preventable because I dropped my guard. I let stress get to me. That cost me money, the ability to move to a better fleet, and time I could have spent advancing. Now I'm not sure if I even have any options until November. So it's like I'm stuck in mediocrity until the end of the year. I make great money at times but usually not so much. Failure is still not an option and I'll get this worked out, soon I hope.

I agree with passion go over there head your technically the boss fire them they have plenty of dm's maybe you just haven't found one that works for you. I would talk or if you cant get miles get a new one till you find the one that fits your needs. Stress at home sucks when your on the road.
Lady K Thanks this. -
I think crswvc might be purgatory. Sit here, don't make money, don't have fun. Yep, sounds like purgatory. At least o/o gave me a free lunch ticket for my 45 day (*ahem* 9 month) lease review.
Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
Going to be in crswvc on Monday anyone going to be around?
