Stay away from the Rand McNally TND 720. I had one and the thing would freeze up time and time again. Wound up tossing it out the window in Iowa. Useless crap!
Garmin makes a better product, but I have not tried the Dezl unit, and I'm getting one when I can.
Truck GPS units are making my head spin!!

Wow! Sorry to hear about your issue with the 720. You know they do have a warranty? I had to send my 520 in because the speaker was messing up but thet fixed it and returned it in about ten days total.
I had a 520 and was offered to trade up to a 720 which I did about a year ago. I use it all the time and would recommend it highly. -
but, since it is not on the side of the road we will never know...
If a unit does not preform as expected.... and you are in warranty... call Rand Support. -
Used properly they work quite well,so to call it "useless crap" is just plain bogus.
By u'r own admission in another thread u want instant response from u'r pc's and gps and at this price point I don't believe that is possible at this time.
The only time my units freeze up is when I ask it to do too much without letting it complete the previous inputs.
Just my .02 cents worth.Pop Thanks this. -
I said this before, I would get nothing but a Garmin... why?
Because they have a solid company behind the product, they've been making the nav units longer than anyone else has, their tech service is responsive IF you take the time to explain the problem to them, I can actually call them and tell them that there are mistakes with their maps and they make products that are used in mission critical situations, like landing aircraft under instrument conditions.
This is a tool and part of our navigation so I don't have time playing phone tag with people to fix something by replacing this or getting that or updating something else.Pop Thanks this. -

Been using a TND 520 for about a week (smaller version of RM 720). Been very accurate, good heads up on construction zone, sharp curves, speed limits, weigh stations, etc. Easy to use, good display. So far I'm very happy with the unit.
My only gripe is the address book wants the city 1st which confuses the unit when that city name exists in multiple states (IE: Ogden). If you put the state 1st, then city name it would speed up the search. Very minor issue, tho.Dieselboss Thanks this. -
I'm not bustin your stones at all. I just have been doing this a long time and have not heard someone specifically want to enter the state first. Interesting comment. -
With the 760. Main page ///where to-> search page. upper right hand corner box reads "searching near" tap that to-> search near page. A different city appears fourth option down.
