I had a driver return to the yard and seeing the driver who loaned him a fitting, stopped to climb up to the crashbox to fetch the other driver's fitting.
Well he slipped off and did a face plant on the concrete yard surface breaking bones in his face & more. The local PD who responded w/ the ambulance notified OSHA.
The NEXT day OSHA came to call and when we described the faii, he stopped us, clarified that the driver was on the tank out in the yard and NOT inside the building.
"That is not me, that is a DOT problem." and out the door he walked... -

I didn't even read this reply. I live in Realville.

The first one is an outdoor washrack - a structure to work from; the second was a tank car loading rack, again a structure where the worker is supposed to be safe. climbing up onto a tanker out in the open yard, a tanker built to DOT specifications, is not OSHA.

Figured I could ask this question here cause I'm definately interested in tanking for Schneider: Been spending some time in Southern California. Told my friends I was leaving and would be based out of Houston to work for Schneider (assuming they will accept me once I've got my CDL there). These friends aren't wanting me to leave. They're wanting me to "Tank" out of So Cal. To do my due diligence, does anyone here know of any Tanker companies out of Southern Calif, who will train a Noob??
Thank you -
I know Superior Carriers trains rookies with a fresh CDL and I know they have places in Cali, just not sure where. Locate Wsyrob on here. He has some Superior threads. Pretty sure he started there with no experience and they trained him.
Twicebit Thanks this. -
Southern California is not a good place to be for Superior Carriers. The closest terminal is Parker Az. There is a Carry terminal in Stockton Ca as well. Many of the loads we run out there are deadheaded back to Pasadena Tx or Memphis.

The rates out of Ca. Are cheap. Less you get a Campaign Load . Of course , if you get paid by the mile , it won't matter to you.Twicebit Thanks this.

I see 18 months otr exper is needed to go with Superior and that you don't take on noobs. I googled "carry terminal" and learned what that is.
