Schneider does not have any contracts like that.
They hire folks out of CDL school and reimburse them at a rate of $150 a month up to a max of $3500.
That's two years.
If you quit, then you just don't get anymore reimbursement payments...that's all. -

Great school in central Washington state
Hey hey...
I just wanted to mention that T Enterprises in Pasco Washington is a great school to earn one's CDL. I just graduated today and those folks there are awesome!
They aren't the...cheapest school in town but they keep their classes small and provide lots of 1 on 1 instruction. Classroom are 4 students to 1 instructor and its 2 students to 1 instructor while driving. I've heard horror stories about some local schools having as many as 6 students in a truck to 1 instructor. How can one get any windshield time like that ?? Some schools send students off to teach eachother even. Yuck!
T Enterprises does none of this. Theresa and her staff are great people who really care...( she's easy on the eyes too...). Anyone in near the Tri-Cities WA area looking for a good CDL school should check out this school !!

This was as of earlier this year, about March or so. In SOME markets, Schneider will pay up front for your CDL school. In the case I looked into had to pass CDL written with endorsements. Also pass Pre-work Assessmentl, Drug screen, (including hair follicle) and they paid for DOT physical. Then they enroll you/pay for the school, after the school one week orientation, week out with trainer, week of orientation, then if you pass your check ride off on a truck.
You do have to sign a year contract, if you bail or get fired before the year's up you have to pay back the school tuition. Also, you don't get a choice of assignments, such as home run, dedicated, etc. Pretty much OTR, 11 out 3 back if I remember correctly, I could be wrong on that.
Was seriously thinking of that route, did the drug screens, PWA, passed CDL permit. Wife and I decided to do cargo-van delivery instead for now, probably will go into expediting work using our own van. May revisit OTR in the future, but after thinking about it and reading posts on the forum, not too sure I wanted to do they indentured servitude thing. Would rather do CDL school on my own, local community college does a good 8 week course, the school Schneider uses is your basic 4 week CDL mill.
That having been said, if I did go OTR would most likely go with Schneider, the OC is about half hour from the house, was impressed with how they did things, even at the small Edwardsville OC.
