Oooooooooh "Someone did some research". That's good. When I went there we had school in the back of the yard in Dallas. It was also one year contract. I aslo did a BUNCH OF TEAMING WITH Schneider. I also drove a cabover for awhile. One of the best darn trucks I ever drove. You could back that puppy in anywhere. I'm not sure what they offer now. But check on creature comforts while resting. That is a big issue nowadays. Be safe

This is probably the best overall route to go by. I went this route myself and if I discovered that OTR wasn't for me, I had an "out" that allowed me to apply to other truck jobs that might be more local. Granted, they prefer you have some OTR experience, but sometimes you could get lucky and get on with a good local company if they see the education you received from a quality school.

As for me, I'm STILL waiting for a truck to become available in Fontana, CA. Ugh, might have to loaner some local jobs for a bit until a truck becomes available.

He's such a good driver that every month he drives is equivalent to a year

Hey all. I start exp.driver orientation on the 20th. I used to drive for schneider about a year ago, left for another company just to find out that the grass isn't any greener on the other side. I was just curious, is everything about the same or has much changed? Looking forward to coming back home.

to be fair , yesterday was a year and 3 months for him in having his license.

    as to his rant,
personally some kind of noise loud enough to drown out the trucks driving through the lot is what I need. Even when I'm not idleing , I prefer to be beside trucks that do idle. Feels like white noise to me.

thursday, coming back from my last stop. Was pulled over by Michigan DOT on the premise that my tandems were TOO SHORT!

Normally our loads going out are no more than 14K nose to tail. Coming back , we're lucky to have 5k in return stuff(recycleables, store returns, etc) SO I have them set all the way to the front to get as much weight on the drives as I can. Doesnt matter though, at that weight I might as well be BOB.

He does his thing, has me hold the tape at the pivot point. Of course I was legal, right at 37 ft(impossibe to go shorter)

ended up with a driver level 3. Just ran my license. Didnt check logs or anything else.

What I think caught his eye was the poorly peeled off OOS sticker on the drivers side corner of the nose and used the bogus "too short" to get me pulled over.

Idling policies have changed. Make sure you research thoroughly. I have a pretty good job now. But if I had a good teamer, that is the only way I would go back.

    viper10720 Thanks this.
