And what was the point of starting this thread if you are just going to mock and make fun of everyone trying to help you out. Now we all see you started this just to get a rise out of people for your own amusement. Do you really think people want to help you out now?

He probably depreciated his truck to get his income down. It's legal. I used to do it every year. It's possible to get money back without paying a dime to uncle Sam. I used to show very little income even though I was swimming in it. The only downfall is, you need to buy a newer truck every few years. This is why companies get rid of trucks after a few years. It made it difficult to buy a house though. They only see the bottom dollar.

Wouldnt matter its a fixed cost.... :biggrin_25513:
Its a variable cost that you can control and increase your profit margin , by smart purchasing and driving.

You guys are so busy rearranging the deck chairs that you don't see the iceberg and the water rushing in.

All I see is OP posted a rant on low rates/settlements. The only trolls I see are the ones trying to read more into it than there is.

2hellandback: is that about it? Or did I miss a cry for help somewhere in the other 68 posts?

This is something I never could understand . Say your tax percentage rate is 15% . If you spend $100,000 you are only going to save $15,000 in taxes . Why spend another $85,000 ? It makes sense if you really need to replace a truck but people spend far too much on other items to increase their deductions while only reducing their taxes by a small fraction of what they spent .

I got something of value from this thread-!

Bayou... You said steers only last 100k miles. Is that most owners experience? Last week at a dock, I was speeking with an owner, and i mentioned my steers had 80k on them. There looking pretty good, small feather wear on one tire. Anyway, he said change them at 100k. I responded that my last set I got 156k. I rotate /dismount remount based on wear. The old ones are now on my drives retreaded with bridgestone megatrek.

What's the value in replacing at 100k if you still have service life on the rubber?
