Has anyone estimated the number of CA base plated trucks that will have to come off the road on January 1?

I would love to see you sue the DMV and win on that one. However the cost to plate in Cali is probably less than Carb would fine you don't know never plated my tractor in cali never will.

It is rather amusing how the state and goverment vehicles do not have to be complaint yet everything else does. Remember a few years ago before I became a driver myself heard my friend talking about how in the state of california you can not have a set of aftermarket stacks if you're from another state. However if you live in california you can put aftermarket stacks on your truck. Weather it was true or not I don't know seemed pretty backwards and stupid so it probably was true least at the time. What I wouldn't give to have a fleet of about 500 old mechanical cats and big cams run out there with the pumps turned up. Tell every driver as soon as they hit the state line to just hammer on em. Them old tree huggers would really love the big wall of smoke rolling into the sky. God it'd be beautiful:biggrin_25525:

For the record, not everyone in California is a tree huger. Those that live in the desert are CACTUS HUGERS! And then there are a few who are not cactus OR tree huggers. I think there were six or seven at last count.:biggrin_25526:

I don't think we will win in court, I have 9 other O/O like myself set with an lawyer, he's been looking into it and like the case, if they don't register block us.

I think if they put all these guys out of business, bad things are going to happen. CARB starts taking someone's life away, what does a person have left? One of these guys will lose there minds and do something crazy, just my thought.

I would definitely agree with you there. You're a very dangerous person when you have nothing left to lose. I would feel sorry for any driver that has to go through something like that because of CARB. When you're put out of busisness because of emissions something needs to change. Diesel's don't harm the environment like gassers or even electrics (hey them batteries don't break down in a land fill when they're past their useful life) it's pathetic just leave us a lone and let us do our job.

Does the Kalifornia border have a big wall preventing escape? Get out. Get out now.

I have plan A, do nothing and see if they extend it, or wait until I get a fine. Plan B, I have money to do the DPF if all else fails, and a good tech to direct me to the right filter. I found a good company that builds good ones from what I have found
