It's gunna happen!

i will test a couple other things but i think it may be temp related
-
ok tested a bunch of stuff. the shutdown will occur unless you hit the clutch or brake when the engine light starts to flash. then it resets for another 3 min. on and on. i tried parking brake on or off. trailer air on or off. flashers on or off. still shuts off after 3 min. i am hoping it is temperature related like some info i have found on the web. if not i will be dead come this summer. db i may be a guinnea pig on this. which is dumb since i never idle. i think last summer i idled like 4 or 5 times. and this winter maybe once.

I,d at least call up there an find out whether ur a guinea pig or as bad as oak creek is they may have f ed something up which is very realistic when it comes to that bunch of idiots

We are running the same version on the ecu, but it may also be nothing more than an option inside the ecu software, and I have no desire to start playing around with my ECU. Most versions of opti-idle have a temp. override to where if its below or above a threshold it allows you to idle. You could very well be a test subject, would be really crappy to not tell you, or oak creek is just oak creek and is messing stuff up. I know opti-idle is coming at some point, from the message that was sent out when David Millis was avail. on the qcomm. He said they were going to be testing more cost savings measures and hoped to get volunteers, and we would also be getting raises before or around August I do believe. The only three things I can really see as cost saving measures would be opti-idle, opti-fuel routing, or qcomm routing. Or then again it could just be the cynical nature of trucking in me.

To bypass it if the clutch or gas will reset it, lay something on the clutch that will push it down but not actually enough weight to engage/disengage it, just like you would tap it to turn of cruise control, not like you are putting it in gear. If that makes sense. Your tandem bar puller should be heavy enough to do this.

yeah i have messaged craig. mike. and david millis. no one has answered me. maybe i can ask dan in safety on monday. i havent had to worry about idle yet but i would at least like to know if it will work when it is hot out. i dont mind doing things to reduce cost and make me more money but at least tell a brotha. the only reason i know is kenworth madison told me i dont have idle anymore. if not i would have thought something was wrong with my truck.
makes me wonder. first cameras. now no idle so you have to strip down to not be hot while you sleep. makes me think something is going on lol. jk i dont have a camera. -
