pilot first, flying j if no better alternative , and loves on the rare occasion(although they are always a penny cheaper). Oh, fuel solution must be followed at least 90% of the time to stay on track for their new bonus structure. Same goes for annual performance raises too.

Lights weights for heavy haul like water runs. Saw one the other day small sleeper not much bigger than a day cab. And one seat from what I hear. By the way just tested out yesterday picking up my truck in kearny on tuesday.
BossOutlaw88 Thanks this. -
Used for heavy loads. No passenger seat either. Saw one in Dallas a couple weeks ago.

So last night I went in to a paper mill in Appleton and grabbed a preloaded trailer - 44,500 of rollstock. With full tanks I can usually scale out anything under 45k and I only had half tanks so I wasn't worried. Used the customers scale to axle out and left thinking I was legal. I was just about out of hours so I ran 5 miles down to the nearest TS to shut down. As I pulled in I said "what the hay, might as well run over the CAT Scale". Turns out my drives weren't 33,850 they were 34,500 with the tandems all the way forward (trailer was only 32k). Nothing I could do that night so I fired off a quick message to OPS and went to bed.
I wake up this morning and surprise surprise there's no response so I call into OPs and head back to get reworked. I hand the dock manager the CAT Scale ticket and my BOLs and explain what's up.
"Back in a dock - you'll have to wait a hour till I get a guy down from the upper docks to reload you"
"Sure, no problem, thanks for doing this"
"What do you want changed?" he grumps back.
"If we can move 2,000 from the front to the back that would be great"
"If I move 2,000 you're going to be illegal"
"I've got my tandems all the way forward, if we move 2,000 to the back I can move the tandems back to balance the load"
"Whatever, just back in the dock."
So I go and back in, chock my wheels and the dock manager appears in the dock door next to me "Come on the dock and tell me what you want this is loaded perfectly allready!" and then grumbles about dumb truck drivers not being able to do math.
I go in and we start talking about how much each of the rolls weigh:
"You've got 4 in the nose that weight 5,900 each and 7 in the back between 3 and 5,500. I don't see what the problem is"
"The problem is you've put 23,000 and change directly over my drives there's no way I can axle out."
We go back and forth a little with him trying to convince me I don't want to move that much weight back but finally says:
"I'll do what you want but don't come crying back to me when this doesn't work. I'm going to tell you to wait until 1000 tonight when the next shift comes on"
I bite back my smart as response and let him get to work. 15 minutes later I'm rolling out back to the CAT Scale, tandems in the third hole and sacles out 11,400, 33,400, 33,200.
I was so tempted to go back and show him the new ticket and say "how bout that math?".
"The problem is I've -
Ok. You peaked my curiosity. The problem is what?
