All this talk about petes and reman cat engines is getting me a little exited, kinda like Christmas eve or something. I bought my 379:new in 2003 to avoid emission issues ( cat 6nz ). Every now and then I think a new one might be nice.

The Caterpillar Factory Reman C16 (7CZ) is no longer available, it was recently discontinued.
Cat sdp Thanks this. -
I called my cat dealer today after reading your post. And I was told that if you had a C-16 (7cz) core that is complete you can get a reman . And they don't care if the block is cracked. You have to have one to turn in, that is the only way to get one.
Service manger was quick to add that he knew where 2 " complete" Junkers were that would do the trick. He also said they are getting stricter about everything .........
I did give him some grief that his ad magazine should have had this important info in it. Typical ....... -
After your post about them I did some digging also, they are discontinued, but pretty sure you can still do short block and long blocks.
Cat sdp Thanks this.
