At least your company had the sense to clean house in Ellenwood. That fleet manager needed to go, as did the others that were terminated. Perhaps these will be steps to improve morale in the Southeast Region. They were large parts of my discontent.

From what I hear, they need to clean house in Gary too. I don't get down to Ellenwood since I went to the reefer fleet, but it never impressed me when I was hauling van.
I do agree with you that one of Roehl's biggest problems is their DSR's. I suppose I am lucky becuase mine is an ex-flatbedder who has actually been there and done that. I have talked to others who have DSR's that harp on them for the dumbest things.
It can be a tough job. Give us a load and leave us the heck alone! -

Thank God I am now retired. All this bellyaching about Roehl makes me laugh. In my honest opinion,if you cant cut it at Roehl you cant cut it anywhere.Believe it or not truck driving is a job. There are good loads and there are bad loads. And if your gonna be a successful driver you are gonna get some of each.

If you are retired, then what do you care if someone bellyaches about Roel or not? I used to work in the medical field but I don't go to RX.com and whine.
Lots of people can, and do make it in trucking, but probably would not make it at Roel. From what I have read about them on different boards they are geared to the newbie or someone who does not mind being controlled all the time like a brainless numpty.
Good trucking outfits don't need to litter the 4 corners of the earth with glossy large font adds to get good drivers either.
There is no training company out there IMO that is worth a #### for a experienced driver because there focus is on training trucks and Government subsides to fuel the mill. -
The big grinding machines WANT turnover as they have something to gain from it. *suckle*...*suckle* that welfare-for-the-rich sugar nipple. -
I work for Roehl in the 7/4-7/3 and everything was fine for about three months, then it became apparent that they felt "We've got him so we can treat him however we want." Suddenly it became apparent that they were just another lying trucking company. When I started we were told in the "expectations meeting" that our seven days was from Wednesday to Tuesday or Saturday to Friday. Now they are saying it is from Wednesday to Wednesday and Saturday to Saturday. That is a big difference. No use leaving for another company I would just be trading one bad company for another. I have come to the conclusion that if I have to stay in trucking it would probably be best to get a union job or my own truck. They can dispatch a thousand trucks better than I can, but I can dispatch one truck better than they can. I will say that I have been able to run legal without a hassle, but you give up a lot with this hometime option and get very little in return. You don't get the miles or hometime you are promised. I have always heard Roehl drivers complaining about low miles even when the economy was good three years ago.
