this is one that I really hope happens, as it will be the one that bites everyone ,, car drivers , police , on the derrière far more than it will truck drivers, once we learn to have fun with it. Imagine 294, I95, etc with wall to wall trucks in the right two lanes. Now imagine being a in a 4 wheeler trying to get over to your exit. And you know, all limiters won't match, so we'll be passing each other at a 1/4 MPH faster.

Governing trucks in my eyes is fair as long as the rest of the vehicles on the roads are governed as well.

Many states have laws that require vehicles to merge left and give service vehicles (Police,Fire, tow, maintenance,Ambulance, etc.) adequate space to safely perform their duties. If a truck cannot move over because cars are able to travel at a faster speed and there is no "opening" for the truck, where does that leave the workers at the side of the road? Pretty dangerous scenario. I imagine with regular occurance you will be looking at trucks simply "pushing" traffic out of the way to merge left and allow room. Dangerous for the truck driver, dangerous for the other vehicle and dangerous for the service vehicle on the shoulder.

Will they pass parallel laws that state "all other vehicles" will yield to allow trucks free movement when aproaching service vehicles?

This law will endanger the people who work on the highways unless it is replaced with a law that staes ALL vehicles will be governed.

As it stands, this law will not protect ALL users of the road adequately. It will marginalise the safety of truck drivers as they will be subject to any scenarios that will arise while in a governed unit.

don't we already have the merge scenario going on now??

there are alot of governed trucks on the road already blocking the right 2 lanes, due to the mega corps.

some as low as 58 mph,(Prime).

it won't work ,but that won't stop them.

Almost everything .gov does is a fail and they keep expanding. Nothing surprises me. And you know who to blame? The people that inhabit this country. No one else

7 MPH over the limit, with cruise control on. It would be useless to set the cruise, unless you're on open road with room to spare. However, a STOPPED car was rear ended. I wasn't there, driver should not have been speeding... but something still seems fishy to this story.
