K thanks danc.. o geesh I just figured out what your name means.
Gonna wait till probationary period is over with anyways before putting in for something like that. So far its been good, and comes with the challenges I was expecting. Getting used to being away from home, but that is by far the tough part of the job. All the WS drivers I have met on the road have been great and helpful so far, other drivers as well. So far its been a lot of fun, but does have its moments![]()

Long story, but I've had the same email account for over 10 years and won't give it up LOL
NO I don't use it for business/professional use. -
I was all ready to go with W&S on the 28th. But unfortunately, my story is like Arkie's. They denied me the loan, though they said that if I could get the $4,000 elsewhere, I could still attend the school. I still have a desire to work for them, but that will have to wait, it seems. They were nothing but nice to me. I just wish that I could get my training through them.
So, since I am in desperate need to get a job (am close to losing my home), I am unfortunately forced to work for one of the worst companies out there to get my CDL. CR England. But, hopefully that won't be too long, and I can go work for a better company soon. -
well that sux twilight, hope everything works out for ya in the end.
We just got back from our student trip, we went to Salt Lake then up to Helena and back to Missoula. It was a very interesting trip. I really didnt think it was going to be just because it was not that far, but I got some good experience out of it. I drove all the passes, at night, with a snowstorm and no snow plows. Oh i forgot to mention the deer (i hit him) and the idiot 4 wheeler that lost control while trying to pass me on the left on a highway pass that wasn't plowed yet. The 4 wheeler was about in the middle of my trailer and I saw his headlights on the right guardrail... I was like oh crap.. here it comes.. well I dont know how he controled it but he slowed waaayyy down and got off the highway.. Anyway we made it through that and got back in about 4:30am, exhausted and grouchy.. we all were.. one of the students w/us was really sick and well i felt sorry for him.. but it sucked to be out there with a sick person.. So this week we practice and go over and over getting ready for our DMV test.. I am really worried .. I always freak out when it comes to tests... not sure why.. but i do.. my instructor says i am doing a really good job.. and they are not the type to sugar coat anything.. so in that part i am confident.. but its a TEST!!!!!!!!! Anyway i will let you guys know what happens -
Well, just a short update. We just finished our third week, which consited of the student trip. Some of us got a short little runs around MT,ID and WA, others went to Salt Lake City, but everyone went somewhere and all went well. Next week we have lessons on Benifits, and other administrative stuff, and the folks that need to test for their CDL will do it next week as well, then we graduate and get truck assignments. All in all it has been a great experience and recommend it to anyone who is even considering W/S.

oh my gosh did you guys get off easy. We had to go to Gilroy, Ca, then Los Angeles, then pickup in Rialto, then drop off three Staples loads in small towns in Oregon, then up to Washington to pick up in Seattle before heading back to Missoula. We were out 6 nights and ran all night 4 out of the 6. Geesh, lots of experience but it was very aggravating to do all that on a field trip.

She assured me if I pass the DOT and the DMV I have a place in the school.
They had to work me thru the whole process like everybody else. Then in the end didn't CO-Sign for me Curt said. But then two weeks later after I complained the bank sent the papers to me showing they did Co Sign. That was back dating to save their ##* if I sue them I think. But who knows the truth. They control who they want to train and I think a company should be able to do that, just in this day and age. descrimination against age is against the law.
So how old are you? Was that the reason or they just didn't want to take the chance if you didn't make it thru the training and started driving they would not be able to easly get their money back because when they Co Sign they are telling the bank that they will pay the bank back the money if you do not.
I was willing to drive for them two years so I didn't see a problem.
If I had not wanted the job I would of never got to a DR to find out I needed to take better care of myself so I am lucky in that respect it may have saved my life. Passing the DOT and DMV testing made me very happy.
So back in simi retirement and always a wannabie trucker I bought a new Kayak and will spend some of my extra time Kayak fishing and get my trucking done thru you guys out their doing it.
My Son's Brother In Law worked for CR England just long enough till he could get close to home and turn in his truck. He said he will never do that again. -
Hey Arkie. I will be turning 27 in 5 months. So I don't think it was anything to do with age. I think my credit score is just too far in the toilet for them to want to cosign. I am really needing this job (which is why I am going with CREngland for the training), because I will more than likely lose my house, car, and my beloved dogs. And since CRE's training is only 16 days long for their school instead of 4 weeks, it means getting a paycheck a lot quicker and having a chance to keep my house and car, and more importantly, my dogs. I don't plan on staying with England very long after I get all the training done and over with. Then again, I may like them. But even so, once the training is done, I will be going elsewhere, because they don't allow pets, and my dogs are my reason for doing this job.
