Getting ready to head out of Dodge City. Hope I can beat this storm!
Friend up in Holcomb says it's really nasty up there.
    Stay safe everyone.

When we last visited the land of the vaguely humorous bear, he made it out of NYC to the M&M Mars plant in NJ. Got a load to Waco that was picking up a day and a half late, no big deal, it's a drop. So he gets there on Memorial day and drops, grabs an empty and there are NO spots at either inn nearby. He finds a small off brand inn(TS) a few exits down and camps for the night. While all this is happening a load assignment appears, Coca Cola load to Wal Mart in Cheyenne. Loads at 8 the next am and delivers any time on the 30th. He gets over to the shipper at 7 and is loaded and out of there in a hot banana split second. Approaching Amarillo, he sees major wind and dust activity and shuts down. Later that evening he is visited by a tornado passing a few miles away, lots of wind, hail, rain etc. After that he runs all the way up to Cheyenne and drops a day early and shuts down with 15 minutes left on his 70. He gets 9+ back tonight and dispatch wants him to deadhead to Lexington for a meat load. He'll need to check the weather first, not running that far empty if the winds of the last couple days continue, they can't send him to Greely? Stay tuned for the further adventures, or not.

One of the truly great things about the Aviary as compared to other threads on this site is how one little snide sarcastic comment, such as "biblical old" can lead to a three day piling on with no shortage of participants willing to contribute as time permits.

    Gotta Love It!

Well, just keep the wind at your back and the rubber side down.

a three day piling on and no moderator telling us to knock it off...

Funny how EMU made all the deliveries on time... what divine intervention does he have?

There are so many different threads involving so many different companies here at TTR that it's often very difficult for the staff to keep up with all of them in the way that we would like to. Without knowing the players that are involved in some of these company threads on a daily basis, it's often difficult for us to distinguish between "piling on" and friendly teasing.

I apologize if we have missed something, but it's always our preference to let you have your discussions without any intervention. Unfortunately, sometimes that means that things go unnoticed by the staff. But, anytime in the future that one of you sees a post that you consider inappropriate, please use the 'Report post" feature to let us know about it and we'll check it out.

    Be safe out there guys!

So, I just received the latest recruitment email from Stevens, the one about returning to them. One of their "bullet" points is "on and off the Dallas yard in 24 hours, guaranteed". Yeah, right. What are they smoking?

Thanks 'STAFF', Just a gentle tease that seems to have no end. I think this is one of the threads that is self policing and in most cases keeps a PG13.

Actually, this is a new program they are developing. It means 24 hours after clearing, tho. Not just 24 hours on the yard.
So if your truck needs work or you don't get all your items on the sheet cleared, it doesn't count.
Lately, I'm seeing drivers dispatched well within 24 hours of clearing.
