    So its more important to save some money then having comfortable drivers? There are better ways to go about that... In my opinion, its better to run your clock down in 7 days, take a 34 over the 8th, and start with a fresh clock on the 9th. Good luck getting home for your 34 if your otr and good luck getting sni to reimburse a hotel expense for a 34...

    Wow I cant let this go unchallenged. If hotels are a viable option then they could save a bunch more money by just buying daycabs. Secondly, layover's are not just caused by bad planning. No way you believe that. I wont even go down the list because its so elementary as to be boring.

    Counting down till July 26th.. when I should be getting my cdl...Cant wait to start working. Got out of the Army last week and signed up with a community college to get my cdl. School starts June 17th. I go in tomorrow for a DOT physical and to plunk down some cash for the course.

    It all depends on how u run. I go 3-4 weeks with out a reset then go home. Only time I'll do a reset on road if truck is in the shop. Getting home isn't a issue if u communicate. I've also gone 3months with out a reset. It is how u run.

    Technically yes if they wanted comfortable drivers they would buy better spec trucks then plain ones. For the company its all about making there wallets fatter. Its like that every where u work.

    Schneider told me that they will do tuition reimbursement for your refresher course, but I think you have to take/pay for the course up front yourself.

    I think we have had a misunderstanding. I said layover, not reset. Not the same thing. Not even close. Layover means the customer screwed up, the equipment had, or is having problems. You ran your butt off to get there a day early so you can get your 65 bucks, not your fault, you sent in a mac 14 and a relay request. Layover means that you don't have a load. None of that can be attributed to bad planning.

    I agree with this as well, if you are being run hard enough to use up your 70 in a week then that is great. Means you got many miles and a nice check. Planning yourself to have a fresh 70 is good planning plain and simple.
