Anyway, this weeks load, 20' wide X 70' long going to the port in Savannah, GA to load on a ship to Israel next Wednesday. Got going late last night, everything was good till I got my Missouri DOT inspection this morning, found a blown left steer wheel seal so now I'm waiting on the Petro to get here and fix it while I pay 2 state troopers and 2 pilot cars by the minute.

So yes, it was a little spendy this morning, $575.00 for road service but I did have them replace the bearings as well as the seal and shoes. I even went with the upgraded spindle nut that has a new locking device and never needs re-torqued. Guaranteed to hold end-play for the life of the truck. I was supposed to roll at 07:30, we pulled onto the road at 10:30 so I'm not going to complain. If you ever break down in the Joplin area and need service, call the Petro and ask them to send Wayne. That mechanic was absolute first class business, knew his stuff and worked like a fine tuned clock till my tire was back on the ground. He even called me a couple hours later to make sure I re-checked the oil in the hub. That's not service typical of most "Road Squad" mechanics. I made sure that there was something in his shirt pocket when he left so that he could take his wife out for a VERY nice dinner.Logan76, Winchester Magnum and MJ1657 Thank this. -

Lljist picked up this load. Can someone please help me figure this out? I don't know how many straps I should use. Or should I use chains? And, this is a big wtf moment for me too. Lol

I would use chains, chain it to the ground pull the pin and drive like hell.

Lol. hilarious. I can't figure out why they gave me an empty van. Before they tried to get me to swap with a van driver that knew next to nothing about flatbedding. Drove two hours AWAY from my receiver only to find out that they screwed up. I know in this case there was probably no one else close by, but I don't think we have any drop and hook trots in El Paso, which makes me wonder where I'm going to get another flatbed. Gotta love dispatch
