It's hard to draw definitive conclusions about one company or another. Personal experiences will vary wildly from terminal to terminal. Top pay at UPSF is like $26.65/hr for city drivers and .65cpm for road drivers, or thereabouts, based on the new contract that is scheduled to take effect soon. It takes 4 years to get there, but it's one of the highest paying jobs in freight. Not Parcel division high though...half those guys probably don't realize what a charmed life it is they lead.

well a city driver works very hard, we work very hard for 9 to 14 hrs loading and unloading, allot by hand. and if you have a country route you will have a lot of hand freight. fedex pay is now 22.88 hr and time and half after every eight. line haul pay is 57.88 per mile and they pay for drop and hooks. and your right on ACH1130,
it is different at other places and docks. like if you go to shv. la dock there more hard on there drivers and dock hands than say houston i know this for a fact. and if you go work in dallas then one day its cool, then the next day you man!!!! totally hard noise. now i will say this, if your blessed enough to have a day run with one of the these co.'s then i would say that guy has a charmed life.... yeah!!!!! -
Glad fedex is treating you well. By me the few I have spoken to are starving. Im not talking new guys Im talking guys with 7+ years. But then again these are line-haul drivers though. And yes I used to work the city for YRC, did work very hard doing that, especially with a 40 footer trailer and lift gate.
I could have a day run where I am at now... nobody wants to work the days... too much traffic in the north east. I prefer nights anyways, works good for me right now.
UPSF is one of the highest paying LTL's though. If i was at Parcel I would tolerate there bs they put up with, especially as a feeder driver -
Right! Well fedex just started about a year ago moving freight by trains and that has been felt in our big cities, in dallas and in shv. They have been some layoffs and night linedrivers feeling that for sure! Some long- timers going to extra board, are back to city and starting on the bottom but here in east texas it seems freight has been heavy and there puting on more drivers here,
