Although " economics" play an important role in powerful countries, that is not factual for the religious fanatic countries AT ALL... More wars are started over religion than anything..which is to me..an oxymoron...just saying.

You must be on down time today too,no? Dreary and rainy here in Texas, but glad to be away from all the tornados in Ok,Ks!!! I ran from 2 of them..Shawnee and Moore...

You are defining war loosely. Religious fanatics can cause mischief but they don't fight full scale wars. They can't, not enough resources.
Look through history all the way back to Rome. Why didn't they conquer Germany? Germany had nothing they wanted. The Crusades were for the capturing of key Ports and cities and most importantly trade routes. Virtually every war fought between Catholic France and Catholic England had nothing to do with religion. Why didn't the WW 1 end sooner? Reparations. WW 2 was about economics as well. Heck economics even set the stage. No Nazi rise to power without the great depression. Religion is the propaganda used to justify sacrifice to the proletariat but it is rarely the reason. Religion isn't dangerous, tyranny is. Secular or religious tyranny will always be bad for humanity. Tyranny is inevitable, it must happen. It's a natural cycle of humans and one that cannot be broken, merely stalled.

Augustus was the first Emperor of Rome, the greatest republic the world had ever known, and he was beloved. If you had lives through 40 years of civil war you would be grateful of peace to. This is what happens to all societies over time. Conflict will always happen because one group can always get an edge on another. Conflict means war and war means precedents get broken.
Precedent is really the only thing keeping us together. Humanity is always at war and always will be.

This is why many try to get rid of religion because they see it as a way to control ppl's hate and direct it towards the opponent (of the political agenda) ...

Religion has been with us since the beginning of recorded history. Mythology gives way to paganism which gives way to christianity and so on. So easy to say get rid of religion. Why don't we just say get rid of gravity. As long as there is an unknown about death there will be religion. Indians who had never heard of Jesus or Mohammad had religion. There has never been worldwide secularism, how do propose to do that? Having a bumper sticker slogan is not an answer.

That's because we have easy living. Let the hard times, I mean the real hard times come back and we will see religion rise again.

either way ... I respect everyone's right on freedom of religion and freedom of not having or wanting a religion or even believing in a higher power for that matter ...
