Luis good luck man. We might get to meet up if I'm still here in case they decide to replace the engine.

I was considering the Schneider Choice Program until I realized that Schneider seems to pay hhg miles. If this is the case, you may drive 6-10 percent of your miles for no compensation. But you will pay the cost to drive them. You may want to find out what mileage program they use. Running uncompensated miles with todays fuel cost is something you should factor in to your calculations. Good luck.

Although miles are a consideration in percentage pay, they are a lot less of one compared to mileage pay. The load pays what it pays, regardless of miles.
Obviously though, run the miles yourself instead of relying on their numbers, to check the rate.

LOL, that "mileage program" would be Google Maps in my case, since the choice program doesn't pay by the mile, it pays percentage of revenue. Google Maps just tells me my rate per (actual) mile, expected fuel cost, etc. The only important number I get from Schneider is the total revenue to me for each load.

That mileage program is very accurate and includes deadhead, too, by the way. :biggrin_25519:

Schneider pays hhg miles if your a company driver. choice program is all you pick and chose and get like 65% of the load pay. and 100% fuel surcharge. Its a good thing to look into.

I think when you look at the load on their loadboard it shows a rate/mile. Since it is based on hhg miles, it would be different from the actual rate / mile you will get in reality. But, if the revenue to the truck is satisfactory, great. Good luck and keep us updated. I am gonna go lease my truck on somewhere eventually.

Alright guys so today was first day of Orientation. We were picked up at the hotel lobby in a giant school bus and taken to SNI training center. There was about 20 of us and only about 12 were getting into the IC program while everyone else were new company drivers.

we met with our lease reps at 8 am and everyone was taken out to the shop to see their chosen trucks for about half an hour. Thereafter they took a group pic that they will typically post on their site.

i saw my truck before they would take it to the kenworth dealer for engine inspection and it looked as nice as before only the stench of smoke from previous owner was a lot more open now. They said they would shampoo the seats and bed but if that doesn't help I'm getting it properly detailed on my own dime.

We then met with the lease agents in charge of paperwork and they went over the entire lease contract thoroughly explaining everything. Also saying that for whatever reason if we did not want to take our truck by Friday then we had the option of throwing way the entire contract without going into default. That was honest of them. All things were clarified.

then came the insurance ladies Nd they went over things with us. They will explain everything slowly.
Now I must tell you Ll that like the rest of us that are given a number by the lease reps, that number will go up by about 300 dollars more a week.

quite a few people with the 2013 and 14 cascadias were a bit surprised to realize they will be paying 13,000 just in interest their first year and that amount lowers for subsequent years but still hit them out of left field. Others were shocked to learn that on top of bobtail and regular liability insurance that they also had to add on another 130 a week for full coverage insurance on the truck.

People that came in thinking they would get a new truck for about 925 a week were now up to about 1250. Just a fair warning guys.

after all the paperwork that lasted about 5 hours we went to lunch where the food was free but meh kinda gross.

Back to class and we went through crap everybody already knew like logging rules and safety driving rules etc. on the computer for about 2 hours then back to classroom going over some more paperwork. All in all just a lot of paperwork.

We left to go back to the hotel around 530 pm and we left the hotel at 6 am. Met 3 cool guys that went out to Duzzis bar and grill with me for dinner. Guys NO DRINKING while you're on orientation 3 days. One of the guys was a white guy from medians. That spoke near fluent Chinese lol that was cool.

tomorrow we take our driving test and then some more skills testing but for those of you like me that know SNI lol they say one thing and do ten other things. So will post again tomorrows adventures!

Good luck to you. I've been looking at the choice program for awhile. What kind of payment are you looking at on the 09?

Im paying 475 lease plus 34 for catastrophic engine or trans failure plus 79 for occupational and bobtail and prepaid and 60 for full coverage insurance on truck.. Plus 325 to my maintenance fund total 973 week. But technically about 650 cuzz the rest is my own money. New trucks pay about 1250 and only about 75 goes to maintenance.

If you have to have your load repowered, I think Schneider charges an IC $500.

I think you cannot take empty trailers home for time off.
