I just delivered the same thing up here in North Dakota, hopping over and picking up the same load to Memphis tomorrow morning. Though I'm trying to get home to Florida, I don't know if they'll deadhead me home or send me somewhere else

After dropping in ND on the 11th, got told to head to the tulsa yard. So yesterday was straight driving, got into the yard last night, watched the triple OT Chicago v Boston game and got passed off that Chicago won it. Now I'm waiting for a load here at the yard.. Lots of empty trailers... Lots...

I'd love these nice ND loads and going up north to escape some of this heat. However, no end is in sight for this project.

I picked up a motor, gas processing machine, and a bunch of flat pallets yesterday in Export, PA. Got to Eaton, OH and found my tarps were ripped to shreds on the rear.... corners were more sharp than I originally thought. Was an 8 foot tall unit so nearly impossible to get on and pull the tarp to repair. Thankfully I met a childhood buddy of mine that works for Gypsum Express who went a bit out of his way to meet and help me. He was carrying sheetrock... backed in close to me and we used his trailer as a stepping stool to get on top of the motor to pull the tarp off, tape it up with some gorilla tape, and put it back over... what a pain, but if it wasn't for his help i'd have been screwed! So, I bought him dinner as a thanks.
Not due in Claypool AZ until Wednesday so imma take my time with a 34 in Albuquerque. Rare I slow down this much.. but i've hit another patch of burnout as i've run pretty hard the past 2 weeks. Need to learn to slow down anyways given we're gonna have to in 2 weeks. This hours thing is seriously going to impact the driving community hard in both paychecks AND timely delivery of freight.AZS Thanks this. -
It'll make an impact for sure, but for our sector of the industry I don't think that it'll be too bad. But for the team drivers and the grocery distribution guys, it'll be a hell of a change. But, maybe it will force shippers and receivers to reconsider how they view them, and get those folks offloaded in a timely manner.
I'm at the Joplin 44 right now, grabbed a few things and gonna be back on the road towards PA here shortly.. Hoping to put 600 behind me today and tomorrow to set myself up for an easy Monday drop..AZS Thanks this.
