Got a '94 W900 with a 3406B and I've been told that in 2017 all older trucks like mine will be barred from the road in favor of rigs 2007 or newer.
So is this myth or fact?

Well the state of Cali is all ready forcing the older trucks to upgrade with a bunch of emission add on before you can drive in there. But good question. I'll google it.

One of the questions that keeps coming up in webinars for the coming EOBR regs is the problem of integrating them into older non-electronic trucks. No one yet has had a direct answer to how that will be solved. Other than that I've heard no such proposal on a ban.
SHC Thanks this. -
Who told you this?

I haven't heard of any such idea. I honestly wouldn't worry about it since the Govmint isn't going to be handing out free grant money to owner ops to be updating and buying newer trucks.

it's both fact and a myth
there's no ruling. however, between carb and eobr. i wouldn't rule it out either. -
Couldn't find any proposals on the EPA standards except the goverment trying to require manufactors to build more fuel efficent trucks.

I've heard some companies, after they receive they're new trucks, they're setting them up so they don't need DEF. I guess the understanding is the company will save money not buying DEF.

IF they do that and go through inspection they will pay a hefty fine. Look up "http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-####-chat/1116009-epa-fines-edge-diesel-products.html The big bro is watchin u.

The only way this would happen is each state would have to adapt laws that would make the truck obsolete through safety or emissions. The EPA can't if I remember right do anything because they have a grandfather clause in their charter, unless that has been revamped.
