StayBusyTrucker and Scrape have good points. I say "road experience" is the best teacher. Schools can not teach drivers for the unexpected crap that happens every day. its not in books ony in the driver. If I told you how I started you guys would throw rocks at me. "road experience the hard way"

I got my license through CDLTest truck 3 weeks ago and it is an automatic truck with no restriction on your license once you pass. This company/Billy is a little rough and we did drive around the Waxahachie test course for 5 hours starting at 2am with 13 other guys in the truck so each person got to drive 1 time, my only issue is we did not get a chance to back and he only gave a demonstration of how to back and we had to remember when it was our turn on the test with no practice!

The truck is ok its a 1st generation automatic with a clutch which took a little bit to get used to but probably still easier than a 10 or 13 speed on an exam.

I don't think having my license has helped much as I have applied to many companies and they still all want to jam you back into training for "experience" so we will see.

Also it is $250 upfront plus $125 for fuel on test day plus you have about $90 in TX license fees and the $75 DOT Physical fee and of course your time to take the permit tests and driving to Waxahachie.

When I tested we had 13 guys and 11 of us passed 2 failed for pulling out into traffic... this is a cheap way to pass the CDL but you have to have some skills as they are not going to really teach you how to drive in 20 minutes.

I think there were 13 drivers to be tested at the test site that day, not that there were thirteen people in the truck at the time..

Well nevermind.. after reading the post for the third time.. I think that he is saying that they some how magically stacked 13 people into a truck.. I doubting that and for me.. it never happened without pictures

um no for the practice driving he stacked 6 of us on the bottom bunk 5 on the top plus the driver and passenger seats.. after you drove you got shuffled to the top bunk until everyone got to drive the course.

Billy stated sometimes he has up to 15 so we got a break I guess!! :biggrin_25523:

What you should have done was never gotten in the truck and told them that you would not do something illegal and as stupid as what they were suggesting

Be careful of the positives you see about this company. Especially if they have one star and no other posts. The company makes their own fake positive reviews. All over google it's one fake review after another. Just do your own research cause it's not legit.
