I am a non CDL farm truck driver. Do I have to have a medical card even though I am not required to have a CDL if it I drive with 150 miles of my farm?

I thought you had to have a CDL no matter how far you drive if its over 26k gross especially leaving private property?

I know to have the CDL you must have a medical card first

Different rules for farms, depending on the state.

You shouldn't have to have a medical card if you don't have a CDL. If you have a CDL then YES, you need a medical card. Rules may vary in different states.

Many drivers who cross state lines are required to have a medical card without a cdl. It is required under the fmcsa rules for commercial motor vehicles.

Many states have agriculture exemptions that allow them to operate a larger vehicle without a cdl for farm and intrastate.

In NH to drive a DOT registered commmercial vehicle of ANY type you need a med card. I'm thinking that would be nation wide. Not all commercial vehicles require a CDL.

New Hampshire has an agricultural exemption as well.

The question was do you need a CDL to get a med card. The answer is No. It depends on the vehicle you are operating and it best to contact your dmv or dot. they can better answer your question than you can get here.
