Reaching for the lower rungs in customer service. Got fuel there a few days ago, about 5:30 in the morning. Pretty busy. Go in to get my cash advance, and there are not one, or two....even three....but FOUR people behind the counter, at least one a manager. Customer in front of me finishes his transaction, I step up to the counter, and the guy behind the counter walks away.
I wait a moment before saying anything, thinking perhaps this young man had to attend to something. But no...nothing. He walks back to my end of the counter, and right on past me! I finally blurt out "would someone.....any of you....like to wait on me??"
He did after the not-so-gentle prompting.
On the flip side: Earlier today at the Love's at exit 100 on I-20/59 in Alabama, I stopped at the MickeyD's to get a cup of coffee. A most pleasant young lady was quick, attentive, and friendly. As I was leaving, she was rolling a garbage can out the door and to the dumpster. I helped her move it over the curbs, for which she thanked me.
They'll get my business next time through. It really doesn't take much.

Common courtesy is the exception nowadays. Even when they're paid to be courteous. Apart from getting my business (like your experience) I have written emails to corporate letting them know what a great employee he/she is.
48Packard Thanks this. -
If I were president I would make it legal to just dropkick the living crap out of someone like that lol... I cannot stand terrible customer service like they are doing me a favor and being a burden to them cause they actually have to do their JOB!!!
Puppage Thanks this. -
I've actually walked out setting off the buzzer things before when no one would help me after 3 minutes. They asked what I was doing, I said "well I figured either I'd get it free since no one was helping me or at least get your attention."
flood, drvrtech77, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
It seems like the customer service at the truck stops is at the lowest I've seen in 17 years. I think its because the mom & pop truck stops are very few and far between and often not on the fuel stop list of most trucking companies. I want slap the waitresses at the truck stops that look down at the truckers. Ditch if you don't like truckers don't work at a truck stop!

I was at the Pilot in Cheyenne WY. Fell on the ice out in the fuel island. They put salt down for the cars and I mentioned it to them that I had fallen and it needed to be done for the trucks.
Her comment. "We do not put salt down. You guys are just truckers."
Called and left a message and immediately heard back from the district manager. He was not happy and neither was corporate. -
Down south has excellent food.Heck they make a Mc Donalds a delicasy. They're not cheap about piling it on.But when it comes to waiting on you, better sit down and read the paper.I've had to wait many times. They're cooking makes up for it.

That's the typical low life attitude from many. They forget, without trk drivers they're would'nt be a trk stop.

This was an older lady and she had nothing but contempt for the trucker. -
I would like to smack her in the mouth for a remark like that and I hope she got a chewing that she will never forget. If it weren't for drivers she would not have a job or anything at all because of a truck driver. It is hard enough without some smart mouth person putting you down.
