I really appreciate your response.Is the driver responsible for washing out the reefer,and gettind rid of any left over palletes?

 

Are the instructors at FFE' school really thorough in there teaching?I have been out of the truck for so long now,I am a bit nervous abut getting back again.

 

You usually dont have left over pallets. They company pays for trailer washout. Just send a request for TCH check. The academy instructors are very knowledgable and very good at what they do.

Most of the folks I've met that are being sent home are for one of three things
-Weight
-Blood Pressure
-Protein in urine (diabetes)

The physical consists of a drug test, blood pressure, they check for groin pulls and muscular abnormalities. They ask a few basic questions "Have you ever been clinically depressed" or "Have you ever been addicted to __________."

Other than that, it's pretty routine and more or less just to push you through for a medical card.

I remember one guy in my class who got almost every letter and number combination wrong on the eye test chart, and they still passed him.

 

I guess you'd have to be pretty obese for them to send you home for a weight issue?

I asked about ffe ltl out of burlington nj in my own thread and got very few answers so I figured I would try here.

Anybody on here doing ltl out of burlington NJ? Is the pay rate the same? Lots of work? How hard would it be to go otr for a while and then switch to something where I'm home a few nights and some weekends out of burlington? How are the people that work there? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

One more question. Does anybody know what background check company ffe uses? I just got my criminal record expunged so now by law I'm allowed to answer no on the application and not be lying. But my expungement is so new that I'm affraid that my record is still floating around out in cyber space somewhere.

If I knew who they use I would get my own from there first to see what it says. Don't want to be sent home for lying on the app after I went through all the trouble of getting it expunged. I cant afford to leave the job i have now and not get a new one right away. Thanks everybody for your help. Hopefully I will be out there with you some day soon!!

as for the p test, from personal experience, they are also checking for blood in the urine. several from my class had to retake several times due to bus rides from distant places.( the ol grey bus aint a smooth ride kiddos.) i got sent home and had to prove that i have "genetically unique" kidneys, and that it was "normal" for me.
