The pre trip looks very intimidating at first, but it really isn't that bad. For Washington especially, you need to use the correct verbage as they want it, but the tester is super nice, patient, and even gives you some big hints when you missed something. I had my worries at first about my backing maneuvers, but it all comes to you at the end, believe me. I take my state test tomorrow and I am not worried one bit. I think that says a lot about the instructors and this program, especially considering the fact that I am a chronic worrier. They want you to pass. Stay out of your head, don't over think what you're doing out there, and you will do just fine. Believe me.

Congrats brother! It's amazing to think that it has been that long already! You're doing so well!! Pretty soon you'll have the OTR experience to move "up" if you ever want to. Not that you're unhappy where you are. 3 months and you can change your ticker on your profile ↢ :)

    Newtrucker48 Thanks this.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to hear. I am a worrier as well. What I get out of what you are saying is have fun and relax. Let us know how the test experience was for you.

Well I passed, so I'm a Swifty now! I will tell you this- nothing about the state test is any different from what you practice in school. It is a lot of work but totally doable. Go do it, and I will see everyone else out on the road!

Passed Pre Trip, failed skills first attempt, sent home for a week. Practiced relaxation techniques, went back and slept well the two days before the state exams, passed skills and road. Starting Orientation this coming Tuesday in Sumner. I hear from classmates out ahead of me that orientation and mentor pairing works pretty well. Looking forward to a solid 6 weeks with mentor.

Hello guys had a long hiatus. Sorry about that. Next week I make 11 months with swift. Some things have changed. Im no longer otr. Im on a dedicated account based out of houston for home depot. I like it. I stay in texas amd go from the rdc here to stores throughout houston, austin, sugarland, mcallen, laredo, etc. Im off weekends to do a 34 hour reset and then I start again. Its really busy. Best part is im on salary, no more cpm for me! Soon ill start renting a car and go to louisiana 3 out of the 4 weekends. Probably rent a hotel room that 4th weekend and just relax. Besides that how is everyone?!
