One day down. Got 478 miles in my first day and everything went well, had to let my Trainer drive around New York City, pretty sure I wasn't quite ready for that...lol, just unloaded in Randolph, Mass. And waiting on dispatch for the next load.
Really happy with the training I am getting and the support I get, not only from my trainer, but from the folks in Black River Falls as well. Made the right choice coming to Millis.

Driving thru the NYC area isn't that bad. Making a delivery in one of the 5 boroughs...
Take it from someone who drove a commercial vehicle there for over 12 years.

The beer dist. in randolph is nice, if you are ever in the Boston area and in a bind and need parking, its a nice spot to know. Also the food truck that comes in the morning and at lunch has decent grub.

Sounds like you are doing just fine. Hang in there.

I'm sure I will have to drive in NY, lol, this week (per company policy) my trainer has to drive through major metro areas. I'm actually looking forward to being able to "take over the truck" for the test of my training.
I witnessed all those behaviors you mentioned though, and my trainer gave me the same advice...just go with the flow and lea w yourself plenty of room.
I always appreciate any advice from experienced drivers. Thanks, Pete
