Hello Rockdoctor i just wanted to thank you on the info. I am trying to get into that field because the otr is not paying out. I am willing to move to tx aslong as i can get into the filed. because that is the reason i came back out here on the the road but i heard a lot of the " you need recent experience atleast one year ":. well i just put 3 months in otr for an otr company. man they fed me a lot of bull. all i want is to make a decent paycheck so that i can support my family as best as possible. Any help into getting into the field would be very well appreciated.
most companys ive talked to keep telling me i need to be local. I would be very willing to become local if i had a job that i knew would be there for me once i got there. anyways thnks a whole bunch i appreciate your posts very much.

From all the research I'VE done on here: It looks like applying online just doesnt get the job done in texas, I understand it's hard to just uproot your family and move "not knowing" you're going to have a job...... but it seems like if you have a CDL, endorsements, and a twic, AND go down there and knock on doors, that a person will find something. AGAIN this is just what i have gathered from all the research i've done on here.

I'm planing on going down there myself in january to "kick the tires" (fly down there, rent a car, and fill out apps for 2 days straight) with license, endorsements, twic in hand. I understand everybody cant do that, im just saying that WE (people that are interested in going down there) have to help ourselves as much as possible by doing our own "homework" because texas (from what im reading) isnt one of those places where a job is going to handed to us from a computer screen.

Like its been stated on here already a million times, the first job people will get (more than likely hauling water) wont be the prettiest, best paying , nicest people, best hours, or best circumstances in general but the point is its a tanker job in/around the oilfield: we just have to go try and get it, it wont come to us....... I (just like you) want to thank Rockdoctor for his informative posts about the oilfield.

Good Luck, hope it works out for you

Info about some new crude hauling jobs in S TX...

Been VERY busy but just got off the phone with a buddy and wanted to spread the word about some crude hauling positions out of Kennedy, TX.

My buddy is working for a company called SouthernCC. I'm told they also have a small yard in San Antonio but they are looking for a handful of drivers for Kennedy. Sounds like you will start out at about $23/hr and they have housing for free first 2 months then you pay something like $300/month. Also think he mentioned benefits.

He said they would probably work with someone if you had a year of tanking water but they are not looking for newbies. Anyway, I don't know much more about the company but I worked with this driver before and if he thinks they are good that is good enough for me.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

Hey Rockdoctor, how about giving me your net paycheck numbers and hours worked for a week, or pay period? I'm just curious as to what you actually are making versus the hype. I've been in the industry since 2006 and I can tell you that bigger companies move in and drive down the pay. It's a how low can you bid for the work deal and in the end the driver is the one getting read ended (figuratively speaking of coarse). I want facts and numbers, not rhetoric.

Sure Rollin' On, PM your social security number and bank routing number and I will get my personal pay info right over to you, LOL!

Honestly I don't know what statement you read by me which is "hype". The last job I posted on this thread pays $23/hr and I don't work for them (a friend does) so I just report what I am seeing and have no reason to lie or mislead anyone. Fact is I have personally helped over a dozen drivers find work and received nothing from the transaction other than a "thanks" and a cool network of individuals who may be able to one day help me out.

LOL. I wasn't needing your personal info. just the net that you were paid. However, if you aren't working there then it's irrelevant. I was referring to the Schneider job hauling frack sand. I just remembered that they only hire people that live in south TX. Even if they did pay well it wouldn't do me any good because I live in north TX.

    Thanks anyway.

Apply for Halliburton online; I did and have been here almost 2 years now in Amarillo TX. The Yard is in Pampa TX 40miles North of Amarillo. I had a associate apply for 12 different Jobs online before he got in.
