Best place for a bull gear.....

That's the one I put in.

Pressure priming is best. I made one from an old 5 gallon compressor tank. If the fuel system was open, prime the fuel system so that it fires right up. Get a cheap garden sprayer and put a compucheck fitting at the end. The compucheck fitting should be on the pressure side of the fuel pump. Pump about a gallon of clean fuel through it or until you see no more bubbles in the fuel tanks. I do that for injector changes and the engines fire right up as if they've never been apart.

Oil system not fuel. I'm scared of taking off any ofthe plugs on the block, its that rusty. Maybe I will just turn it over by hand.

I know, I made a primer for that that uses shop air regulated to 40 psi. I was just saying that if you opened up the fuel system, it should be primed too so it fires and builds oil pressure quickly.

Finally got everything together, fired it up and no problems. No leaks, no codes, and fantastic oil pressure, about 55 psi cold at 900 rpm. Didn't want to let it warm up because I didn't want to pull it out of the shop. The whole thing honestly took me a month due to illness, pertussis, strep throat, and the flu. But I finally have my energy back and I'm not exhausted all the time. Having bad balance didn't help either.
I also found the oil pressure regulator to have tons of cracks on the outside of the housing. It's possible that the inside was flaking off.
In the future it would probably take me about 3 full days to do this, but I did quite a bit of extra work here and there.Heavyd Thanks this. -
Looks like the bearing on the adjustable gear wiped out. Apart it comes.

Any tips on priming a Ser60 after the head and injectors were removed?

Yes, a few posts back.
