I have 2.2 million and have been driving off and on since 1991. I've pulled almost every kind of tanker there is since 2001. I won a safe driver of the year award in 2008. I know, big whoop. :biggrin_25523:

After seeing some of the tanker crashes I've seen I'd say safe driver of the year in one is pretty big stuff!

How long does it take to get a million miles and who did it in the shortest time? 10 years?

I just sold my truck after 5 years and 9 months, 808,064. So about 7 1/2 years for me. And there's plenty of guys who turn more than i do in a year, probably turn a mil in 6 1/2 or so.

I really have NO clue how long each one took--BUT----I can guarandamntee--IF I get another its gonna take most of the rest of my LIFE:biggrin_255:--since it seems like sometime this winter I got home--unloaded truck--and my ambition made a break for it! I dont really see myself looking for it too hard either! LMAO

    Speedloader and Hammer166 Thank this.

I've been off about 2 1/2 months this year. GF asks if I was antsy to get back in truck. I've been running all over on the wing and in the Hemi, so I was able to honestly answer, " OH, HECK NO!" :biggrin_2559:

Probably will take me a very long time only driving 7/7 and about 2500 the weeks I am out.

I've got 1,706,000 in this stretch which started over when I knocked a mirror off. I had 1,625,000 at that time. No police/accident report for the mirror...so company says 1.7 million. But it could be 3.3+ million if using a different measure. Company miles started in April 1978.

Anyone over 4 million miles? If so, what do you like the best about todays trucks that are on the road compared to when you started?

ATA allows 100,000 miles per year( doesn't matter if you turned 150,000) . And any year with a accident doesn't count( even if not your fault ). That said I'm at 1.4 million to the ATA. Even though my truck just turned two years old in April (in service date) and has 328k on her. My father has 63 years in , so he would be about 6 million miles. Been couple of scrapes. But it does make you wonder why, especially the year I got rear ended?
