How long do you have to pay them tho? These payments are steep, but they are for ONE year. Not saying that there aren't other problems with it, but that is one positive, that could save money overall based on what interest rates are like between this one year and other companies 18 to 36 month loans.

Will have to pull with them for 52 weeks which is you know 1 year. I do know companies like Pam only want like 50 dollars a week but What is really on my mind is companies like central, pam, prime, usa all are reefer including jbs but all the other companies I will have to run otr and jbs only wants me to run regional

I don't have all that info in front of me, but most of those seemed to be for a year of indentured servitude to the company...this one matches your payment, the other one forgives it after a year of your making payments while you drive...they all work out to pretty much the same thing in the end.

Each company has their own spin on it, and if the $96 a week isn't over in six months then you can find cheaper...although that doesn't mean better...?

If you're happy with the deal, and it's worth it to you, then go for it! I just posted because I thought that the payments were higher than what I'd been turning up in my research.

Glad you found someone that you're happy with...the only carrier talking to me right now has a terrible reputation so I'm really sketchy about signing the contract...even though I'm desperate for the training, ya know?

I see we are from the same area so Jbs is hiring from our area. What school are you trying to attend and which company

One that I've heard about is Swift. They reimburse you for some of your training, and you get stuck with them contracted for a year, but your payments aren't done after a year. Contract length is not necessarily the same length as loan repayment. I've got a stafford loan for over 6K for my CDL school, that's not getting paid back in a year, lol.

I'm trying to find one that will train me without regards to my criminal background...I have two misdemeanors that are 24 and 19 years old, and a third that was for possession of pot back in '05. THAT one was in Spalding County so I got sentenced to 52 weeks of probation because the judge owns the probation company there. I couldn't abide the terms so I ran 'till I ran outta work in '07. Then I turned myself in and quit smoking pot and straightened up...

But some companies say I have too many misdemeanors on my record, others say the drug charge is too recent. I'm having a beast of a time with it. Only carrier that'll hire me is PAM, and Drivers Solutions have a terrible reputation, so I'm still looking for another way around. I did it to myself, but man-o-man is this a pain...

I've been turned down by Prime, CR England, Schneider, and Central Refrigerated so far...
