"they" ( i really hate that term....being an NCO in the army...privates are always saying "they told me to do this".....who is they?????)
wow that was a tangent....sorry folks...my mind is off tract as im in an army school at the present moment

anyhow.....they will NEVER put "log illegaly" in writing....that would open them to a lawsuit, and probaly get their DOT number yanked
but if the driver does it in thier (the driver's) free will...they are not liable, no matter how coerced or pressured

    sorry just the facts

so im gonna go with logs...always log legal

that said my coloring book isnt always up to snuff.....ill be darned if im shuttin down for 10 when im an hour from home, after all montana does not have many police officers, and even fewer who know that a log book even exists let alone how to read it, but when i do run out of hours....i know the risk and the penalties....if i judge it doable then im home with the wife and kids...if not i park and sleep...after all they will probaly still be there in the am if they have waited weeks for me to return ( ok im not really gone that long but you get the drift)
    facts
over hours...get in a crash....go strait to jail
over hours...get cought....get a fine and shut down

    your choice

i chose to be legal the majority of the time

BTW the only way my company knows where i am is a cell phone and fuel charges on the card i dont have to use

    I'll agree to all that.
It is an unwritten expectation and I say don't do it. I have found if you do it once for whatever reason then "they" lol, expect it all the time. give an inch they will take a mile. "they" won't go out on a limb for you, you shouldn't for them.
They will expect you to do it then fire you for it when you slip up and they see it.

You're the cowboy, Apparently I am the "asphalt cowboy" now. lol. I just love all the cowboy/redneck comments I get now that my info says TX. they don't even know I'm the biggest liberal city slicker from WI they ever met. :biggrin_25525:
I had someone the other day calling me a dumb uneducated TX redneck in a forum when I said something about shooting a stray dog in my yard. well, i find it funny anyways. but sorry, those are facts and I'm apparently nt smart enough to like them thar thingies

hey, you try to be a liberal in TX..... It builds character to say the least.

I'm liberal in the sense of what I consider to be a liberal. probably more of a moderate by todays standards. socially moderate and fiscally conservative. yes they can go together.

hmmm.. what was this thread about again?? lol. I'm going to bed now so he can insult me more now.

I sooo agree with you on this one. It is might tough her in Texas. But I do remember when we had Ann Richards as governor and things were a little easier for us liberals. My parents are both liberals and my Dad was born and raised a Texan. He tells me that it was all those darn Yankees moving down here that changed Texas. Of course he is always joking but that is what I tell people now!

I also hate that everyone thinks if you are in Texas that you like country music and wear cowboy boots and drive a truck. I don't know too many people like that, even though they do exist especially in some of the smaller towns, but for the most people are not like that all. I have never been on a horse in my life and I don't drive a truck as my personal vehicle. And you could never in a million years get my husband to wear cowboy boots, cowboy hat, or listen to country music. He despises it all. The ones into that stuff were always known as the "ropers" and were a small group in school.

Anyway I have run off topic now. I just really identified with your post and had to agree with you.

    Take care fellow Texan!!
