I live about an hour away from one of our permanent accounts, so I always have freight to and from home time.
My FM has bent over backwards to get me home when I needed it, and coupled with the pay and equipment, I got nothing but love for Prime.
You should have no issues getting loads or home time out of Cali either.

Anyone who has worked at Schneider, if you we're new to trucking would you pick Prime or Schneider to start?
-
I chose prime over schnieder because they have free training. Iv heard alt of good stuff about schneider but didnt want to pay for school out of pocket and not be guranteed a job. I dont see why any new driver with no experience would go anywhere else but prime. I applied on a whim thinking prime wiukd never hire me. Now im a psd and just finished driving 10 hours with my trainer. Im lovin it. Time for bed.

I am paid 41cpm.
A portion of it is taken out as an untaxed travel allowance, which keeps me from having to keep meal receipts.
It is not optional, not with Prime. It is with Werner.BigJayDragon Thanks this. -
base pay + per diem = Pay rate.
The difference between being paid .41 or .33+.08 is that you can't opt to be paid .41. It's base plus per diem, or you can lease, or work somewhere else. -
At least they aren't charging you 2 or 3-cpm for the privilege of not being able to opt out of per-diem payments!

What he said. I have a dedicated, home every night job hauling cardboard out of a plant 6 miles from home. I would choose running as a lease-op with Prime again over this job any day of the week. All I have to do is convince the redhead that it's a good idea!ritchie lee Thanks this. -
