I think it is going to make a big dent in my income. One of the reasons I started when the truck was getting closed to paid off, that I was going to run Sunday to Wednesday.

Trucking isn't about the company driver or even the L/O..........It's about the Megas.....

IIRC...Swift averages $.10/m profit on all runs........But that $.10 is spread out on a lot of iron across the country.....No way that Swift can lose.....No matter the regs the gov't pulls on trucking....

I would be willing to bet they are making a bit more than .10 per mile. But, you are correct, the megas will not lose.

But, how will that benefit the country and the drivers.

Worst possible way to eat. You're suppose to eat several small meals throughout the day to keep your blood sugar level. I've researched this stuff thoroughly. Actually considered being a nutritionist. Just saying it's not good for you.

It won't....Those regs and rules were never intended to benefit the country or the drivers.....

The irony is that how will they clamp down on Oil Field/Pipeline work?.....
I used to chase down leaks and work 18 hours a day, seven days week, when I did that type of work...That industry won't change to please the gov't hacks.....

It's not like running freight to the terminals....It takes highly trained and highly skilled people to work in pipeline.....Any "Joe" off the street can't work in that industry......

The Swifts and the CR Englands will manage. Their biggest issue may be in dealing with a surge in claims and costs of replacing hoods and fenders due to some of their less skilled drivers trying to get parked mid work day when they didn't used to. Some interviewed truckers don't so the trucking industry any favors when the say things like "I don't like to take any breaks during the day ... it lets me pocket a little more change". Come on guys, be smart about how you discuss these issues, otherwise all you're doing is making it look like these new regs are called for, and maybe weren't enough.
